For this list, we’ll be looking at video games that were clearly created to squeeze life from an IP or drain money from their consumer base. Our countdown of shameless video game cash grabs includes “Diablo Immortal” (2022), “Radical Heights” (2018), “Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival” (2015), “The House of the Dead: Remake” (2022), and more! The only one of the entry’s on this list that I disagree with is Mario 3d all stars because it’s the only way that most people will ever get to play some of those games

I remember my roommate purchasing ground zeroes thinking he struck a good deal on Metal Gear Solid V not knowing that Phantom Pain was the actual full game. Little did he know that he would be completing the game in one sitting and had wasted $20 on a glorified demo. I can still hear his rage to this day.

Six dishonorable mentions 1. LawBreakers (for its *over-saturated/overhyped* marketing campaign like its going _to be the next "billion-dollar franchise",_ and turning the game from *free-to-play to $30* before release) 2. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite (for being a MCU wannabe; never *rip-off* a _real_ billion-dollar franchise just *because it's popular)* 3. Star Wars Battlefront II (for its *pay-to-win* loot-boxes, no thanks to you EA for *doubling-down* with your sense of pride & accomplishment) 4. Battlefield 2042 (another huge low for EA for taking *modern influence/popular trends* that *killed* the franchise identity; don't be sad, this is how it's works out sometimes) 5. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (for _outright_ abusing crossovers & celebrities to the point *it's a Fortnite game* but tonal inconsistent plus $70 despite acting more like an *overhaul to MWII)* 6. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (for *over-saturating* the Suicide Squad brand, following an already cash-grab 2016 film, forced *live-service model* & multiverse plot, and $70) Edit: more detail and adding one more game (LawBreakers)

There's a huge difference between a game being a shameless cash grab and it not meeting expectations. Majority of the games on this list aren't shameless cash grabs. Watchmojo's credibility on opinions are starting to be as bad as IGN.

Hey, MojoPlays. You should definitely do a list of the Top 10 Games to play if you love Sonic the Hedgehog. I have a couple of examples of video games you guys should mention. Being a "bad game" with an beloved IP doesn't necessarily means cash grab. For once I personally liked the house of dead remake. We don't have any original here but being mad that an game that was played in Arcades being only an hour long is crazy.

Examples of this include: Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Mario KArt Tour Super Kirby Clash Also, their violations of copyright laws does count as far as being corrupt goes.

How Super Mario 3D All Stars is in this video's list about 20 Shameless Video Game Cash Grabs? Yeah it's an expensive easily €100 today, but it wasn't that expensive on it's launch at Super Mario 35th Anniiversary 2021 so i'm glad I bought it just at it's launch year when it didin't was that expensive Game Collection than now, but still it's not a Cash Grab, it's worth for the money because it have a 3 awesome 3D Super Mario games and Super Mario Galaxy is my favourite game in that 3D All Stars Collection. 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 and Super Mario Galaxy 3 or Odyssey 2: Here we GOO! That video was good even having games that aren't the Cash Grabs. Would you make the Video about "The 10 PS2 Games that deserves a Remake" thank you MojoPlays! 💙🎮😎

Dishonorable Mention: *Warcraft 3 Reforged -An inferior version of a PC classic. Several features that were in the original game were removed. Clans, tournaments, wired and offline play, and ranked play were all missing! Even worse, Blizzard forced all existing copies of Warcraft 3 to be updated to the new version. Meaning no one could have access to these features or play the original game as it was, EVER. AGAIN! And guess whaaaat... 🎵, they didn't learn their lesson! They did it AGAIN with Overwatch 2! And in the case of the latter, the online storefront was bugged in such a way that it bought items for you without your permission and Activision-Blizzard refused to issue refunds. They are basically DEMANDING [The following quote is said in an impression of South Park's Mickey Mouse] "Either you play THIS version, OR NOT AT ALL!" And at the end of the day, both ended up being something that players didn't want that was forced upon them. When the only way you can get people to play your game is at gunpoint, IT'S NOT GONNA BE WELL LIKED! AT ALL!

Wwe 2k24 should b added to this list. If u bought the most expensive edition of wwe 2k24 u don’t get everything. After the game release they started adding characters u can get to play in any mode but u have to play & pay to get them through their money grabbing mode called myfaction. Total trash

That was literally the whole point of the game to celebrate 35 years of Mario with the release of 3 games in one cartridge.

The House of The Dead remake and Super Mario 3D All-Stars (Limited Release aside) don’t deserve to be on this list, WatchMojo however always felt that they should be it piss them the heck off, The House of The Dead remake doesn’t need to have a lot of content like The Elders Scrolls: Skyrim, and Sonic Colors Ultimate is more worse than Super Mario 3D All-Stars because that game was released in a broken unfinished state especially on the Switch, whereas 3D All-Stars only used emulation. WatchMojo are still WatchLosers in my eyes.
