Nitin Gadkari has often been described as the best performing minister of the Modi Cabinet. Hence the surprise in political circles when his name was not released in the BJP's first list of candidates. Gadkari, the BJP nominee from Nagpur is eyeing a 3rd term and has set himself a challenge of a five lakh victory margin. Here he speaks on his relationship with PM Modi, his own ambitions, whether he feels he has got his due given his stature as former president and high performing minister- and why he wants to phase out petrol and diesel cars entirely.

Hey bhagwaan you know nothing.. NDTV made Modi's career and profile in Delhi .. Modi used to come on NDTV so that he could get some media coverage which he lacked as Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Pramod Mahajan were more media savvy as they were based out of Delhi. Please learn before you speak. There are old interviews of Modi and Barkha when Modi was just an organizer. Modi was a panellist on NDTV's post 9-11 debate in 2001. Barkha Dutt and NDTV (including Rajdeep Sardesai) fell out with Modi (Not BJP) during/after the 2002 riots after they rightfully pointed out his inaction. The BJP continued to have a good relationship with NDTV with Advani and Vajpayee giving interviews. BJP leaders used to come on Barkha, Rajdeep and Ravish's show even during UPA 2 when NDTV used to cover and admonish the UPA 2 government. RW Bhakts have been pissed with Barkha because she speaks sense. And because they found issues with her 26-11 coverage (maybe correctly ) Anyway f your ignorance

We must remind Miss Dutta that the PM never said that Hindus are in danger or in this case BJP fights the elections for Hindutva but the fact of the matter is when somebody says against the Hindu Dharma ( such as DMK, Congress, TMC AAP etc )then it is necessary to counter their narratives . The reason why Muslims vote as a block us because of their security mindset, they have been made to believe that BJP and other communal parties will destroy their identity. This fear has made them to vote to parties which they believe can safeguard them, for them development and other issues becomes secondary. It used to be similar for the Dalits as well.

Wishing him a healthy long long life with the same portfolio in Modiji's 3rd cabinet so that Bharat can have first world infrastructure for Amrit kaal.
