While the river was high due to a lot of recent rainfall, I installed some upgrades on my Mokai. I will be running in cold weather, so I added a windshield. I also added a Wilderness Systems console. Since the pump continued to turn, even when the engine was in idle, I added a clutch to allow the pump to stop turning while idling, which is a huge improvement for tight streams, creeks, and loading the Mokai onto the trailer. I wanted a better feel for operating the throttle and steering nozzle, so I replaced the electronic controls with a cable control system. I replaced the muffler and added a cover over the muffler, which made it a little quieter and allows the engine to run a little cooler. I replaced the plastic wear ring for the pump with an aluminum ring. Finally, I added a metal plate under the pump to protect it and changed the plastic steering nozzle out for an aluminum nozzle.
All of these items, except for the console, were developed for the Mokai by Tom of Painless Enterprises.
His store web site is: www.painlessto...
Click the link for your model Mokai and you will see what products are available for it.

I would love to have a Mokai with the stabilizer pontoons sticking out of each side for getting in and out easier when Im partying at the springs. You could also put netting on the brackets that hold the pontoons out to the side and put beer coolers and grill or something along those lines.

I launched it on TV, it was great fun,sat 2, sealed compartment in front for guns or fishing gear etc.I built it under a Government scheme where they paid me back on proof of working. Unfortunately, one of the government employees stole my,and12 others, checks,and left the country (NZ.) I was left to pay back 12000$ to the bank. Ended up selling it to my cousin for 1000$, . @@OutdoorRetiree I think it’s a very interesting design I like the small engine power jet I think there can definitely be improvements I like the old design a little better with the Jet being protected more I believe I can get that weight down for the shell of the boat without the engine to 80 pounds using just one sheet of HDPE HMWPE or UHMWPE And then just using longitudinal framing I could easily get the weight down and improve the performance
@OutdoorRetiree
@OutdoorRetiree 2 жыл бұрын
@@MudMotorsMax I think the total weight is around 240, with the haul being most of it. Reducing the weight would definitely help the performance. The older design had the pump tucked back into the haul. I wish they kept that feature to protect the pump.

Nothing about that vessel is a kayak, you may as well call it a snowmobile. It is cool though.

I think it would be more like a jet ski than a snowmobile.

I want one of these I can’t find the name of the boat. Super cool I gotta have one how sturdy are they can you stand up in it easily is it stable enough to stand up in it m. I want to use it off shore fishing instead of a yak. Wondering about stability

It is a Mokai and their website is www.mokai.com. I've never used mine in salt water and I have heard that it isn't good to run them in salt water because it is hard on the metal components. It is 3 foot wide and you can stand up, but I don't think it would be good to stand and fish out of it. It isn't real stable while standing.

I used to experiment with ducting when overclocking computers, have you thought about ways to get more air cooling into the engine bay ?

I have seen the pull starter removed to allow more air flow, but I'm not overly worried about the heat. I would like to make it a little quieter though.

Man I’ve been wanting one of those for years, you can get into all the honey holes with one of those, I love watching Auqachigger skip over logs with his, not sure if y’all got the same model? He came down and went treasure hunting with my nephew and I a few years ago but didn’t break out the Mokai, I would love to have a go on one of those, I’ve paddled against the current in my kayak so many times to access my honey holes and my arms were like jelly afterwards, it would be convenient to not have to paddle anymore but I guess I need the exercise, what was that building with the gold dome btw? That was cool, looks like the capital building in Atlanta, I use to take field trips there as a kid, Thanks For Sharing, Stay Safe, GL&HH 👊🏹

The Chigg has an earlier model. I tried to find one used because I like how the pump is tucked back into the haul, which protects it. I added the skid plate on mine to protect the pump. I enjoy kayaking to an extent. When I have to paddle a 1-2 miles just to get to the spot I want to search, its starts getting old, especially in the Summer heat. That is the WV State Capital building. Thanks for watching! Good luck!

@@shawndale1552 I’m in Cherokee County, currently in Hickory Flat but I grew up around South Cherokee, I doubt I’ll ever be able to afford a Mokai, I had to sell my kayak recently because of hard times, Kingston is one of my favorite places on earth btw, I got a few videos from up that way, I have a video from last summer “Kayaking And Fishing The Etowah River”…that’s around the Kingston area, my best friend lives in Taylorsville so whenever I go up there to visit him I try to hit that section of river up there and walk those cornfields, I’d love to move up there one day, Thank You For Your Service Btw🇺🇸
