Was about to comment this. I don't think I've EVER seen him hand set. I've been watching these guys for YEARS.

@@druidzown I think I've seen him hand set on that video on the cliffs at the end of COVID or something. But never in game. But I've not seen all their games in full (though I've seen most - if not all - of the highlights of the last 4 or so years online).

He was handsetting last year in the tournament he did with another partner when Mol was injured. I think he keeps going for bump setting because of the regularity and they are used to the timing

Benesh was getting picked on for passing so much that Partain kept trying to step in front of him. Hope it's just a slump but also hope Benesh puts a lot of work into improving passing

I think Benesh has been getting picked on in every tourney now against nearly every team...he really does need to work on his passing. The option attack obviously works at the international stage by just looking at the Sweden doubles, but you've gotta pass well for that to happen. The Sweden duos ptob get 50% option plays from each set, whereas these two get maybe 20-30% of the time.

Benesh just isn't quite as good as needed, but Partain is.

Just to point out the obvious, at 5:27, it was not great athleticism by Mol, it was great athleticism by Partain. Everyone can hammer an angle ball, few can dig one.

digging the ball is not athleticism. The dude is referring to the height and power Mol is displaying in that attack obviously Partain is crazy athletic to and a great defender but that dig was not a display of athleticism

@@travisbrown2149 Hitting a hard angle ball is something any decent player can do, but digging one is hard, esp a top player. Hence, Mol is not often dug on an all out hit. Anticipating the right position, reading Mol's arm swing, great eye-hand coordination, and shifting the platform in a split second to make the dig, yes that is athleticism.

@@nealpobrien its more about skill than athleticism though. Mol's act of hitting the ball is a greater display of athleticism.

@@travisbrown2149 I don't really disagree, but displaying "height and power" - especially from someone who is 6'7" - I feel isn't inherently athletic. Great play, good swing, but yeah I feel like I'm more inline with @nealpobrien on this one

@@lukejacobs6487 mol might be the most athletic player on the tour. He is 6'7 but he also jumps extremely high and is very fast. The dig was more impressive than the swing, but there was nothing wrong with the announcer pointing out the athleticism of Mol's swing there.
