thankyou thankyou thankyou! I've been struggling with chemistry this past semester. You break the problems down so i can actually understand and memorize, rather than going through a bunch of complicated and unnecessary steps to reach the desired goal. My professor isn't the best at explaining things, she made molar conversions SO confusing. thank you again it's awesome what you're doing!

This helped me understand so much. We need more teachers like you. My Chem teacher explains just 1 problem to us and expects us to figure the rest on our own without teaching the whole lesson smh

Can you explain why you changed the answer to 10^24 from 10^23?
@stepbystepscience
@stepbystepscience 10 жыл бұрын
I did not "change" 10 23 to 10 24, but when you multiply on your calculator you get 10 24. This comes from the fact that 2.91 x 6.01 is 17.49. When we write it in scientific notation the decimal place gets moved one to the left and you get 1.75 x 10 24. If you left it as 17.49 then it would be 17.49 x 10 23.

@Damenf1
@Damenf1 10 жыл бұрын
where did you get the mole mass for the silicon dioxide? (60.08)???
@stepbystepscience
@stepbystepscience 10 жыл бұрын
Add up the molar masses for each atom in the compound SiO2 = Si + O + O = 28.09 + 16.00 +16.00 = 60.08 g per mole.
@Biscuit9891
@Biscuit9891 10 жыл бұрын
The molar mass is the same as an element's (amu) or average mass unit. The amu is always the bottom number in the squares on the periodic table. For example: O has 15.999 as it's molar mass or (amu). In reality though this number should be rounded up to 4 sig. figs. Now O has 16.00 as it's molar mass or (amu).
