Been using this gear for years and never thought of this. Kind makes an assault pack into a quasi medium ruck. If I'd known this it would of helped out our guys a lot trying to balance between capacity and portability.

That set up lasted me for years ! Unfortunately the zipper on the assault pack gave out. Thanks for checking out the channel

Great ideas. I have used the sustainment pouches on mine as well, but I never thought of using that front molle strip as an attachment for them. I normally use that strip for the waist pouch and store my wet weather gear in there. I am in Texas so the mostbI ever need of the mss is the thin bag and the bivy plus the poncho liner. Yours is a great, compact set up and I'll definitely be using the new attachment idea for the sustainment pouches.

Looks good. That open pocket that sits up against your back when you have it on is awesome for putting a folded tarp in. Perfect size and gives you a little extra padding.

I put a cut up sleeping pad in the pocket ... acts as a pad and it gives me something to sit on instead the cold ground

Good info and I like the way you buckle the waist pack to the top flap of the Molle 2 . Thanks for the help bro .

That’s bad ass. I was just asking survivormetalman a few weeks ago about adding a sustainment pouch to the assault pack and u knocked it out the park. Awesome setup

Steelhuskers 1 glad you liked it. I couldn't find any videos when I first put thus together. Thanks for watching and happy trails

Love the sustainment pouch mod! Side note, I did the butt pack under my assault pack as well, but I deployed the waist belt from it and it kept everything nice and tight top and bottom, just an FYI. Nice job, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for checking out my video and channel. I love this set up. But unfortunately a couple teeth on the zipper are busted. Have a good one!

FWIW, the molle buttpack I just big enough to compress and carry a poncho liner. Almost like it was made for the job. If one buttpack is dedicated to other items, I recommend a second for the woodbie.

There is a lot you can do with these molle packs. My zipper died. After years of work. Looking to get another one.

@jackpumpkin Just got my waist pack in today. I'm tall and discovered the belt from the waist pack works better than the backpacks belt when the 2 are put together.

@@swartzautoman2 is it the waist belt from the large rucksack? Send me some pics once you modify your kit. Id love to check it out
@swartzautoman22 ай бұрын
@jackpumpkin No, just the assault pack, with a waist pack attached like yours.

Have you ever attached this setup to the large frame and straps? I'm looking at mine and it is looking like it might be a pretty sweet setup with the waist belt and sustainment pouches but better ergonomics for carrying it.
@jackpumpkin Жыл бұрын
sadly the zipper busted on this pack. I haven't tried to fit it on the frame. I'll look into it. thanks for checking out my channel

Used a very similar configuration of this during the withdraw.

All three vary rarely. Normally just the green scout bag and bivy
