I didn't know the patrol bag fit in the sus pouch . Looks like a great pack . I use the Molle 2 3 day pack with a waist pack on the bottom for a zip up poncho liner that doubles as sleeping bag .

I know this is an older video but you really can't beat the Molle series of rucks from the assault to the beast! One thing I do is reverse the big belt so the curve is on the top, for many people a sad sack is a happy back!

@@bushcraftjoe1 I just got OCP assault pack, pulled the stiff sheet and pad and replaced them with the West German folding pad. Fits like it was made for it!

The ports on the top and sides of the carry handle are primarily for antennas and radio handsets.

I like the idea of swapping out for the large duck kidney belt. I will copy that on mine. Thanks!!!

Just make sure with that wieght it fits your torso well ... Great pack .and reasonable too

Absolutely Tom , this was right at the limit for adjustment. This really designed for small to medium size . Im large regular. Swapping out the hip belt gave me extra few, keeping the pack at lower kidney area. If you got more pointers im always listening.

I am getting one with two sustainment pouches, I’ll use the mss system only with the cold weather bag and bicycle then I’ll have a different sleep pad, I have a whole kit planned out along with a rifle and pistol, great review you inspired me to go with this one instead of other ones

We need to make the Alice pack & frame with PALS instead of mounted pouches. MOLLE suspension.
@bushcraftjoe1Ай бұрын
Never waa a fan of older surplus packs . The molle is my generation packs n gear so its what i have experience with.
@nomadmarauder-dw9reАй бұрын
@@bushcraftjoe1 My suggestion isn't a revamp of an old design. It's an amalgamation of everything good about 2 systems. With PALS you enjoy unparalleled versatility / modularity. And nobody can dispute the comfort of modern suspension systems. Where our modern systems fall short is the need for different sized packs in spite of our so called advances. With a rigid external frame and standard basic pack with the ability to add capacity and organization I feel we could at least approach perfection. Impossible, I know.

So you put the kidney pad off the Large MOLLE II on the Medium frame? I just ordered a Medium with Frame an i have extra straps so if I can I'll just transfer the kidney pad off my Main Ruck onto the Medium an it'll be ready to roll soon as i get back to Alabama.

Anyone know how to attach an mss sleep system carrier to the bottom of this same medium rucksack. Without using additional straps I can’t see how. No bottom Molle rings to attach the carrier
@bushcraftjoe1 Жыл бұрын
This one had 4 molle slots on the bottom of the bag but this more of 3-5 dY pack oriented, where the large ruck has area inside fir the mss and such. Example i d place wool blanket inside woobie like a sleeping bag roll it up inside gortex bivy bag and strap it or use d rings

Good right now I'm using a large MOLLE an the Assault pack an it's killing me almost 90lbs I gotta keep from putting to much in the assault pack
@walkerone98333 жыл бұрын
@@outlawriderandoubletrouble I have all three...the large Molle ll pack, the 3 day assault pack which I sold to buy the medium molle ll pack. I hate the med. pack. The 3 day was way too small but kept it a long time knowing it would clip to the large ruck sack. I thought the Med. ruck would be a lot better and more comfortable.....it is larger but not comfortable. Going to go with a light weight frame less pack and keep the large ruck....which is actually much more comfortable than the med pack. I do love military stuff but the weight at my age is becoming an issue. Large ruck bug out.....lightweight frame less for everyday (or so) pack. By the way, I was looking into the newer improved mss but found they are much narrower in the bags and the bivy. I'll stick to my woodland mss pre-improved. It is a little heavier but I want that extra room. The improved and hooped bivy looks great. keep all the bugs and rif fraf out for shure.
