Rock on...

I think the lineup is-- Phil McCormick: vocals Bobby Ingram: lead and rhythm guitars Bryan Bassett: lead and rhythm guitars John Galvin: keyboards Andy McKinney: bass Mac Crawford: drums, percussion Original lead singer Danny Joe Brown was in the middle of recording “Devil’s Canyon” with the band when he fell ill from a stroke, and Phil McCormick stepped in and took over as vocalist, harmonica and all. McCormick sounded so much like DJB that it’s hard to tell who was who on the album’s cuts. A few years later, Bryan Bassett took off and joined Foghat and Dave Hlubek returned to Molly Hatchet and stayed in the lineup until he passed away at the age of 66. Bobby Ingram hasn’t even bothered to recruit a second guitarist. He believes in hogging up all the solos. Story goes that Bobby Ingram invited Bruce Crump back to Molly Hatchet, but as a hired musician. Crump told Ingram to go pound sand. I get it about the changes in any band’s lineup, but the Molly Hatchet of today is a travesty of the Molly Hatchet of the 1970s. One guitar? Really? Bobby Ingram, you can do better than that! And one more thing: why was Jimmy Elkins let go? He was a pretty good vocalist. This guy you got as singer is not cutting the mustard. Guess I’m going to have to watch the Molly Hatchet videos on KZfaq to experience the real deal. I saw Molly Hatchet in 1993 at the Rocky Bayou Mullet Festival in Niceville, Florida when DJB was still singing in the band, and for two hours I was in Southern rock heaven. Joining him on bass that night was Buzzy Meekins. I’m never going to forget that night. It was fantastic. That’s the Molly Hatchet I’ll always remember and enjoy.

I had the pleasure of seeing the real Molly Hatchet 3 times in the 70's and 80's they earned my respect by putting on great shows! From a bar in Austin to the Main events in Portsmouth Va. Keep working at it new Hatchets, maybe one day yall will get close to how they performed.....

15 times here. I saw them 10-12 times with Danny Joe Brown and 3-5 times with Jimmy Farrar. The only replacement other than Jimmy was Riff West on bass, instead of Banner Thomas.

Not one original member, I hate when bands do this shit. They sell the name to a backup guitar player and he tries to cash in on a few more years. I guess you can go hear some of the old songs live, is the only good thing.
@cliffsanchez1451 Жыл бұрын
A lot of bands are doing this crap now days. Usually a replacement member,or the record company,or management,or promoter gets "legal use of the name" to put a fake band out on tour to cash in on the name and legacy of the group. I say there should be at least one or more original members in the group to be able to use the name and music.

I care. When a band advertises they are a certain band, are playing songs written and made famous by that certain band, pays no tribute to the original members, (living or deceased) and has not one original member of the band they claim to be, they ARE NOT that band. They are no more than a cover band and shouldn't use the name of the band. That is fraud and they are perpetrating a fraud to those who know no better. It doesn't matter how well they play or how good the musicianship is. This is NOT Molly Hatchet.

Will Bobby, you have a ghost from the pass here. I know how you got to be with Hatchet. I've been friends with the original band members for years. Long before you came along. Ask Steve he'll tell you , I'm telling the truth. You apparently forgot how you came to be with Hatchet. Let me remind you. It was Dave who put you there. I also know the real reason why he left the band and how he put you in his place. See Bobby, I was around when Molly Hatchet signed their first contact , actually even long before then. I was around when Bruce join the band and Banner taught him how to play the drums , even before then. When Big Bob was playing in the band before he became their light man. Way back before they became famous. When they first started out on the bars here in Jacksonville. I'm a long time friend. I could tell you some stores. You were never apart of. So you maybe known for being with Hatchet now. Yes you've done good by the name I'll give you that. But you'll always play second best to the original members. No one , and I mean no one can ever take their place. Danny will always be the known singer for Hatchet , Dave the lead guitarist . ALWAYS. When people saw and heard the original members play , that's the band that will always be known as Molly Hatchet. You need to remember that. Something I think you forget at times. For it was because of Dave your were you are today. Never forget that or him. May he rest in peace. We miss you Danny and Dave. You will always be known Molly Hatchet. For it was you Dave who came up with the name. I remember you telling me the story behind it. Miss you both.

P. S. Bobby if you delete my message from before. Remember there's other sites I can go to. I'll tell the real story of how you because were you are with Molly Hatchet. And the truth behind the story of how the record company did Dave on the name of Molly Hatchet. I know the truth as I said before. I was there back then and know the truth behind it all. If it wasn't for what took place back then, you wouldn't be in the place you are now. There never would have been reason for you to be. This isn't that radio station interview you had that you had them hang up on me back then. This is the internet. The truth can still come out. I respect Dave to much to have you forget what he did for you. Are how you got were you are because of him. Think twice before you do something stupid. I can prove everything I have to say. Again as I said, ask Steve about me, he'll tell you I'm telling the truth. Sorry if I seem hard here, but the guys are all gone now but Steve. I won't allow you to forget what he did for you. You seem to do that and forget your place. You weren't Molly Hatchet to start with, only took the place Dave put you in . Which he did only for the band sake , no other reason. Which is why he taught you everything he knew to have you play like him. Oh I know , see , he himself told me about it. Never forget to respect him or those members before you. There wouldn't be a Molly Hatchet of it weren't for them.
