I love Molly, but I agree with Haviland Morris. Molly can easily wait to show her kids these movies and explain real life to her in the process. Plus, what a writer creates, doesn't mean they endorse it. Look at every other movie that has someone murdered. That doesn't mean the writers endorse murder. And, casting judgement on today's norms vs norms of a different era, is ridiculous. Everyone one of us are doing things now, that future norms will frown upon. We don't know what that is, and that's the point. What Molly is doing is so silly,.....but I still love her.

She sure didn't mind taking the money for her early movie roles or the accolades. Maybe she can cleanse herself of the 'problematic' feeling by donating all of the money she earned doing those movies to young women's charities. I like her movies; they are what they are. I don't care how anyone else wants to analyze every bit of every movie to tell everyone else what to think about said movies.

The film Sixteen Candles actually implies that the drunken Caroline (who's an adult) commits statutory rape of the freshman Farmer Ted. She is the instigator and initiator - stubbornly ignoring Ted's pleas to control herself, and also surreptitiously giving him some of her birth control pills (which she also takes); also, Ted has no memory of the event afterwards, suggesting that he must have gotten as inebriated as Caroline, while the prom queen Does remember (and states that she thinks she enjoyed the encounter). But it's a movie - and perhaps the Best teen movie Ever.

So I saw The Breakfast Club once in the theater and I liked it, the characters seemed like schoolmates from my high school years in the Seventies, tho' I suppose a lot of the Seventies was still around for the Eighties. And with any decades-old movie, it is reasonable not to like certain scenes or whatever, just as it was reasonable to be concerned with what was happening back then in real life, which movies more or less represented. And it is good to discuss and debate those depictions and glorifications all these years later and I still wonder, as an aside, how that song from Grease still gets played on the radio, the one with the line where the guy asks, "Did she put up a fight?"

I really like Molly, she's the prettiest woman I've ever seen. Also, sad that the acting world is so sick, I personally think that there is nothing wrong with the panties scene or some behaviours showed in the Breakfast Club because it's just a movie, the problem starts when people cannot separate fiction from reality, both for those harrassing women and for those too prude to think art should be censored, both cases seem to be unable to separate fiction and reality at some point. But I'm glad to see Molly coming back and making more and more varied roles these days

Seems the thing nowadays is to judge the past by the now. It is also interesting to hear actors dissing their past roles that made them famous. These films came out around 40 years ago and what was acceptable then is not now, especially in light of our woke , everything is offensive society. From what I understand Molly had a lot to say about the scripts and the casting. You also failed to mention that Hughes wanted Molly for a new movie but she turned him down. He told her that he would never offer a role to her again. I wonder how much this has to do with her new attitude to her and Hughes movies? Of course, now that she wants to act again she has to play by Hollywood’s new rules and that involves nay saying her past. I have seen all Hughes’ movies and they are pretty tame I see no reason that she should be ashamed.

How can you not understand that his predetor like personna while seducing claire came from his life story? People now have a very superficial look on art: dangerous even. Now, we want art to portray the PC ideology.
