In the 80's Aerosmith did a song with a Hip Hop group named Run DMC. It was one of the first times a Rock Band and a rap group did a music video together. When you get a chance react to "Walk This Way" by RUN DMC. They were the first Hip Hop artists to get inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Steve Tyler is the lead singer, this song was released in 1973 and is still considered their signature song. He is the father of Liv Tyler who beat known for playing 'Arwen' in the Lord of the Rings. This band has so many great tunes and I hope you get to hear them sooner rather than later.

Steven Tyler (the lead singer of Aerosmith) has made incredible music with his band for an extremely long time. Their music is eclectic and has been able to keep bringing the thunder since the middle 1970's. They were a small band that formed in a small town in New Hampshire, where his mother raised him. Steven Tyler's voice is raw and edgy. You should definitely check out both versions of "Walk This Way" next. Their version first, and then the updated version with the rap group RUN DMC.

From google..Yes, Aerosmith played in a barn behind a 14-unit building on Prospect Hill Road in Sunapee, New Hampshire, where the band got its start. The barn was a favorite hangout for the band members, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, who met in Sunapee while spending their childhood summers there. In their early years, Aerosmith played at many places in New Hampshire, including high school proms, the JFK Coliseum in Manchester, Holman Stadium in Nashua, and the Capitol Theater in Concord....im adding.. they also were big in Boston and through out new england.

They began in the 1970's and are still going. Having been a teen in the 70's, I forget younger generations are unfamiliar with how "experimental" the Music was in the 70's. Basically, musicians could try anything and we were willing to listen. In the course of a week I would hear Lawrence Welk, Mitch Miller, Sonny&Cher (pop), Hee Haw (country) and Hymn Sing (gospel) in addition to the Top 40 AND my personal music. I was not unique. This was normal for my generation, the Boomers.

Go check out the Run DMC version of Walk This Way it is really very cool.

You may really really love the fried chicken and mac 'n cheese, but you will be very disappointed if you do not try a little of everything else, too." Best advice ever!! I have always been a pop tart and I do not apologize for that. BUT I listen to every genre there is and have had some beautiful surprises over the years!! I am no rap fan, but I adore Emenem. Walk This Way (original soundtrack from the album Toys In The Attic)…and other fan favs: Last Child, Sweet Emotion, Train Kept A Rollin, Lord Of The Thighs, Nobody’s Fault…among many. ORIGINAL STUDIO ALBUM VERSIONS ONLY (Not Live versions or remixes). Dream On (1st album) released in 1973 but didn’t start getting airplay until 1974 or 75. By then they had their fourth album out and suddenly everywhere on the radio was Dream On, Walk This Way and sweet emotion. And besides Zeppelin, which is at the top of most rock ‘n rollers bands list. It was an Aerosmith Summer. PS: Aerosmith had ‘two lives’; before the late 80s and then after their come back of the 90s. (they broke up and reunited and did a famous collaboration with run dmc ). All the hits above are from their early era.
