"I wasn't born just to suffer" the man who can't give up

That statement needs to be more relevant to everyone. I remember being at that point in a psyche ward after some tough military shit and asking myself something similar. I think mine was along the lines of "is this what life is now? I made it out of that shit storm alive only to be miserable for the rest of my days? Nah, fuck that." I started to actually listen to the process, accept that I wasn't weak for needing help, and stopped taking all the stop gap drugs that doctor's love to shovel into people's mouths to numb them rather than help them try to fix the problem. I was told after my first trip to the psyche ward that my functionality in "normal life" was going to be severely hampered. After the 2nd trip they had all but given up on me. Saying the equivalent of "he's lost. If someone isn't taking care of him, he will end up homeless on the street and likely dead within a year." It took until that 3rd trip, about a year and a half of solid misery, a divorce, and losing everything before I asked myself that question and I'm glad I did. That hole I crawled out of was about 10 years ago and I haven't looked back once. There are some situations that are unavoidable. Some people are born with shit hands and others don't play their cards right and end up with shit hands because of their choices. If there's one thing I've learned throughout the entire process, it's that your mindset makes all the difference. The choice to change is always just a few thoughts and questions away. Some roads are harder than others but the choice to dig yourself out is always there.

It shouldn't be about giving up or not. It is absolutely fucked that some people are born to suffer in the same country as those who live in mansions, or where medicine exists but they can't have it because they cannot pay for it. Francis managed to find a way out, and that is just as much luck as determination. Many children have accidents in those working conditions, his mother was obviously determined to look after him, he didn't contract a life altering, or ending, disease. He didn't give up, no, but he shouldn't have had to struggle through that in the first place. I would hope that documentaries like this, and people like FN who escaped from those situations to find success, will lead to a change there, but it won't.

Oli DR it’s not fucked at all. Different souls need different experiences to grow into their potential. Life is about constant growth not comfort and stagnation. Francis was strong enough to overcome his circumstances and turned them into a blessing instead of a curse. He is an example to everyone he influences of what is possible. No one can help another person change if the person doesn’t want to change themselves.

I hope Francis knows that God answered his prayers & fulfilled his dreams of a man strengthened by God to inspire more kids than he ever hoped for. Francis said he was always dreaming about a man that would come and through inspiration make a difference in his life as a kid but unfortunately that man never came, but Francis didn't realize that man didn't exist yet & God knew He needed to create a miracle so much bigger than a dream to inspire one little kid that God sent Himself as Francis's guide & mentor inspiring him every day to become the very man Francis prayed for for himself, he needed to become the man he dreamed for in order to inspire not just one kid but millions of kids, & not just in Africa but kids around the entire world for decades to come. God sent Francis to be the man of his dreams to inspire kids everywhere forever....

I’m only 21 born in Australia but hearing about how Alcoholism affected his youth, his dad beating the family, having a bad reputation and leaving. Multiple contenders? Only DC is worthy tbh. Stipe whooped Francis who is the only one worthy of a rematch. The division is weaker than all others. @@evanodum563 Dc and Stipe are already set to fight. Not only do we have to wait for them. But after that Ngannou gets the winner. So he has to stay out for the next few months after the fight and recovery. Then after that next could either be a rematch or a new contender. If it comes down to a new contender Blaydes will get the shot. Which is even more time for him to wait. The division is pretty much on hold right now which is the point I am making.

Astonishing not having heard of him. He is definitely one of the more well known fighters and he did get a lot of hype (justified) . Any ways, if you like seeing people get knocked sparked out, he is definitely one to watch for. Massive and extremely explosive. Just steer clear of the Derrick Lewis fight. That did not live up to it's potential 🙂. Not saying he has the hardest punch in the world, but he has the hardest recorded punch in the world. Any ways happy days, I was just surprised that somebody watching MMA hadn't heard of him.

I've seen his deep thoughts through his quotes and thought to myself that man has been through some terrible things. You can't feel bad for yourself for losing, at least you tried. Thank you so much for this video, it's definitely going to change my mindset on a few things.

It’s a damn shame the Francis Ngannou videos don’t have more views! People don’t know this mans story! And it’s hard to condense something so long and arduous but you made it entertaining and did a great respect to the fighter and current Champion. Even if we never defends the title successfully. “Who’s gonna ever beat Francis Ngannou?” “How about a faster undefeated Francis Ngannou with Muay Thai kick boxing, oh and he has Francis’s old MMA coach” It’s a shame. But yeah regardless this man literally went from chipping rocks with a stick to UFC champ of the world.

Thanks for the great content brother :D great to be here early. I can relate so hard to one thing he said in the beginning of the video @ 3:00 "I didn't know what I wanted to be in life. But I knew immediately what I didn't wanna be, I didn't wanna be like my dad" This is a true characterization of one of the best lessons you can take from a traumatic childhood. you can let it make you, or you can let it break you. break the toxic cycle, or carry it forward.. I'm not surprised at all that Francis has succeeded at the highest level with this mindset.

TA D I think if stipe Francis fight again it’ll be a different fight. Last fight he let the fame get to him, wasnt training seriously, and just living the life of a rockstar when the ufc was pushing him hard. After stipe humbled him I think he learned a lot from that loss and would take it much more serious this time around. But who knows maybe stipe would still grapple tf outta him and win the fight
