VICTORIA - There is a large animal making a big splash at a Victoria beach.
An elephant seal has chosen the popular sun spot to lose its fur and it's gaining a lot of attention.
We first showed you the molting seal last night on CTV News and it looks like he could be here for a while.
Marine Biologist Dr. Anna Hall says people need to stay away from the animal, and let nature take its course.
She says the seal may appear to be in pain, but catastrophic molting is part of the seal's life cycle.
If the sea is not disturbed, it could be on the beach for a couple of weeks. If it gets agitated, it could decide to move and find a new molting location.
