I'm quite lucky for my school where I lived was open to the LGBTQ+ community and had a gay straight alliance club in high school. Wish more could have that experience. Too many don't have a safe environment at home and or at school while I had both. Someday maybe that will change for the better one day.

I remember we had this one kid in my class and he was gay but that was okay for him to be gay because his dad accepted him along with his dad's gang his dad was in prison for gang activity when he got out he still was in the Gang when you found out his kid was being bullied by a teacher it didn't end well for the teacher

Living in Oklahoma is terrifying. I live in a city that is considered one of the most dangerous cities in the US with one of the highest crime rates. I didn't even realize how dangerous it actually was until recently. There's a lot of conservatives, and I have to attend a private christian school. That school also has no security at all. The doors are always open, anyone can just walk in. There's no safety drills, and at one point they put actual loaded guns on the wall as decorations 💀 luckily that was before I came here. I can confirm that I know a lot of people that aren't qualified for their jobs at all and still got the job. My former principal and his wife who is a teacher had no qualifications at all. They just went to a church and the pastor walked up to them and offered them the job. He didn't even know them. They were complete strangers! It scares me that what happened to Nex is so close to where I live. I feel like my other queer friends are in a lot of danger. Its already dangerous enough to be in a conservative christian family when you are gay or trans, but when that's your whole environment then you are seriously in trouble. I got accepted into another school for next semester so I won't be at the christian school for much longer, but since I haven't been to a normal school since before 4th grade, I'm afraid I won't know how to speak to normal people. After so much hiding and lying to try to survive, it's going to be very difficult to trust anyone. We need to get dangerous people out of positions of power immediately.

There are three adults on my districts school board trying to get rid of funding and such for diversity teachings and clubs and this could also affect other classes. Need I mention we are the largest school district in our state.

As someone who goes to a oklahoma school, I am glad my school is a charter school as they don't have to follow all the rules of the school district for the city I live in, meaning that they can support queer students (and almost if not all teachers there do)

I used to live in Oklahoma and go to elementary school there, i was a trans boy at the time. But i had transferred during the school year, which meant constant bullying, mis gendering, ganging up on, and more. I had to drop out once i had a literal black eye.

As a Republican from Oklahoma, I find myself wishing for more robust solutions within the party. My views are gradually shifting toward independence because, while I appreciate the Republican focus on economic stability, there are also aspects of the independent stance that resonate with me.
