both parents have good points. dad wants to teach his son to keep his word. he doesn't want to spoil him because giving him everything now, would make him want to ask for more and more later on. however, i do find him a tad bit hypocrite (i can't think of a more neutral term sorry but i'm not hating on him or anything, it's just in this specific aspect!!) when he wanted yeonwoo to just buy the top because it's what they talked about at home. i mean, they did list down things they would buy but then he went on a spending spree, thus, not sticking to the list. plus, it's not like yeonwoo insisted on buying both the top and the other toy. the thing is, the dad is the type of shopper who wants to roam around and see what they should buy (as seen both in the dept store episode and this grocery episode) so why can't his son look around at the toy store as well and see if he likes something else right? maybe if he wanted to teach him about keeping his word, they should make simpler promises like "i will only get one toy." he is still just a kid after all. on the other hand, mom clearly wants to spoil (not in an eccessive way) her son. like what she said, there are things that she weren't/aren't able to do for him and we all know this is probably due to her busy schedule at work, that's why she feels the need to compensate materially. overseas parents do this a lot. because they rarely get to spend time with their children, they feel sorry for them and would want to lessen the relational gap between them in ways like buying the children stuff, treating them food, going on vacations, etc. again, like the mom said, they rarely go out as a family to do shopping and i guess she just wants to make the most of these rare moments by making sure her son had the best time. overall, i still think they're a great family! i like how both the mom and dad talk about parenting stuff like this instead of just one party conceding to the parenting style of the other just to get things over with or something like that.

But his father only buy food or things that they'll be able to finish it, like tissue or diapers. It's different from spending money to toys.

@@medipakpahan i get what you mean but think of it in a child's perspective. for kids, they think they need toys. they don't worry about tissues or diapers and stuff because they're kids. i mean, have a child choose between $100 dollar bill and a bag of candies, what do you think he'll choose? it's not really about the items but more of the act of spending itself. the point is they made a list at home but the dad did not comply which may set a bad example for his son, given that he himself wants his son to learn to keep the promise he made as well. they had a list so that's probably what they only need at that time and other stuff not on the list would just be "wants."

Both parent are good. they are trying their best to be a good dad in mom... both mom in dad have a good intention.. but the other one try to give more for his son because of her absence because of her heavy schedule. But the other one try to educate his son.. after all they are good parent..

2nd Hero me and my husband absolutely the opposite of this couple, my husband love to go to toys store and he always want to buy toys to our kid. Me, sometime agree and sometime must be the evil one😅
