He’s deaf so he don’t even understand the chaos in his life BECAUSE HE CANT HEAR 🤷🏿‍♂️ he don’t know why his mom is being beat on he doesn’t know what his father is upset about. He can’t hear. @Mukhwan Joseph you’re not right but you’re not wrong . because the boy in real life isn’t deaf which shows to me is that cops necessarily don’t take up to consideration that poc don’t have a disability or mental illness. and they didn’t take that up to consideration when the boy didn’t turn around nor stop when this occurred.

What I got from the video is the dad was an alcoholic who didn’t work & the mama worked to raise the son. When the dinner was served the dad didn’t like it so he slapped the mom and the son jumped on his dad to save his mom then I guess the cops had a warrant for the son and when they went to go get him when they said “freeze” he didn’t hear them because he was deaf but the cop didn’t know that so he shot him.

Also I want to add, if u listen to rod wave throughout the song rod was basically naming problems & in the video the boy had a lot of problems then when the boy dies rod said in the song "Make sure you write the realest in the game on my tombstone when they burry me by the river they will carry me"........ So the music video is basically about a kid which had abusive father the father didn't love them and treated his mom bad that's why he spit the food out and was disrespecting her. So he fought him because he reached his breaking point. Times were getting so hard for him The police stop him because he stole food to feed his family. that's why he dropped the bag of food. his dad was not working so he was trying to help that's y he stole. And because he was tired of seeing his mama broke. And as he was on the floor after he got shot he was reminiscing about his mama that's and he was thinking about the good time they had that's y he said I love u In the video.and the people with the white robes on are angel who are gonna buried him by the river where he would be resting in peace. So basically the dad is an alcoholic who doesn’t work and his mom is a hard worker and the mom comes home from a hard day at work to cook a quick meal and the dad doesn’t like it spits it out and slaps then he checks on his mom by doing sign language because he is deaf and then I’m guessing later he goes to get something because When the cops shoot him he has a bag and he couldn’t hear the cops because he is deaf so they shot him I don’t think he did something to his dad the kid doesn’t look like he would hurt a fly if he wanted to
