Mom serving overseas for a year surprises daughter at school in this emotional Feel Good Friday

EastIdahoNews.com and Ashley in Idaho Falls and Pocatello are partnering to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.
Sgt. Erin Sakelaris has been deployed with the Idaho National Guard in Kuwait for the past year.
Her husband Josh and their 7-year-old daughter Cece have been home in Idaho Falls anxiously awaiting Erin's return.
That arrival came just a few days ago and Josh invited us along to surprise Cece at school with her mom's homecoming. It was a special moment that we won't forget.

As a veteran myself and the spouse of a 25 year USN officer, I had 16 reunions and I felt every emotion from my experience! People forget that the spouse and children, although not military members, still serve! I have been in and out of uniform and although it was difficult, it was a choice and mission because we must have a strong defense in order to have the rights as citizens that perhaps many take for granted. Welcome home my sister in service and know that you and your family are a vital part of the wheels of freedom! With much respect May God bless you and America 🇺🇸 !

It is soooo nice seeing more videos of the women in the Military. I am a Vietnam Vet, and when I came home I didn't tell anyone that I had been in the Army for years. Many looked down on the soliders from that time.Wonderful to see the appreciation and love from strangers for our military and the care given to those eft behind waiting. The deserve it all & more.❤❤❤💜💜💜
