Mom Shot While 12-Year-Old Protects Baby Brother

Жыл бұрынA mother of three says she’s had nightmares after being shot in her own home. The incident was caught on the family’s security cameras. Olivas’ 12-year-old daughter held on to her baby brother and ran inside. Olivas was shot in the leg. She’s had three surgeries so far and is in physical therapy to try to repair the damage. The Kansas City Police Department says a 16-year-old is currently in custody with charges related to this shooting.

Thanks again Inside Edition for not telling the story AT ALL.... the target was the 12 year old girl, she was being bullied at school and apparently told on him and the shooter was the bully's brother. That is what the KC news is saying. So sad and pathetic, can you imagine trying to take someone's life all because your brother got in trouble for being a bully? Absolutely crazy...

I'd send Christmas cards of him in prison to his family so they'll remember how badly they messed up. He apparently did this to help his little brother because he got punished for bullying the girl at school. Let's hold a seminar in his class about how bad of a person he is for putting his older brother in jail

The story is the 12 year old was targeted. She had been bullied at school and reported it to the principal. The boy who was bullying her got in trouble and told his brother. The brother of the bully is the 16 year old who shot at the girl. I think the mother of the bully and the shooter needs to be locked up too. She may have been in on the crime. She definitely raised her son's wrong. I pray the mother of the good daughter heals.

Moving like a running back inside the 20! Great Job Young Lady! Good situational awareness coupled with emotional fitness kept this young girl and her little brother, not only alive but unscathed. Hope the mother has a full and swift recovery and the defendant doesn't see freedom until he's sorry for what he did. However long that is.

On a similar case of road rage they said attempted murder is harder to prove and 1rst degree assault can get up to 20 years (depending on the state) if he is tried as an adult which is the same time as a life sentence.

But as far as I'm aware, in my 17 years, there has only been two reports of shootings, and both were gang related, and both involved 15-17 year olds with guns, shooting at other 15-17 year olds, both sides having gang affiliations. It's so so so safe here. And there is no where else in the world i would rather live

My heart bleeds for this young lady and her family. Imagine living life in such terror that you have to watch your back constantly, even at home, where it’s supposed to be your safe space. I pray things work out for them and that they can live a happy life. I pray the 16 year old and his brother, who probably idolizes him, get the help they need to start living the life that children their age should be living. It’s sad what the world is coming to.

This is so tragic I'm so sorry that that family had to go through this through this good thing that they got out with their lives. As for the 16 year old I feel terrible that he didn't get help before he escalated this Type of violence . Now his life is ruined because he Chose to throw his life away by shooting someone senselessly. God-bless this woman and her children.
