If the police gets a missing persons report specifically about a teenager, they will ask for how long they have been missing for, and if it's been less than 2/1 day(s) (depending on the country) they will tell you to wait for a day or so because teenagers do run away, if they don't come back they will send out a search party. But if the parent insists their child absolutely DID NOT run away they will send out search party teams

Actually in a lot of countries, you must wait 24 hours before reporting someone missing. Usually because some kids run away for like an hour or so. Or sometimes they’re shopping. So, in some countries you must wait 24 hours before filing a missing police report.

Dialing 911 and hanging up will instantly get the po-po knocking on your door.

I’ve got a story.. like 3 years ago I went to the beach with my best friend and we went along to look for shells. We forgot to tell her mom where we were going so she got the life guards and search team to look for us….. when we came back, she was really mad at us and had to tell the search teams that we were safe and we just looked for shells… so we were grounded for 30 mins and had to sit on our surfboards away from eachother on the sand until ungrounded 😂

here in Belize you can file a missing persons report but they wont do anything until after 48 hours. so in other words if you are missing the wont label you as a missing person until 48 hours has passed

It depends on age or mentality . If it was a little child or a diabled person (say an elderly person with dementia), they'd send out amber alert almost immediately with the info they have. If it's someone whose like a preteen thru adult, they'd wait in case of the possibility they stayed at a friend's house or tht they just ran away n r likely to come back ( which is common especially with teens)

Actually, most police stations say you have to wait at least 24 hours to confirm they are actually missing, just incase they ran away or something like that, and they might actually come back. There are a lot of murder cases that had this, and they had to wait 24 hours but by then it was 24 hours too late
