This hits so hard. Addiction really is something that affects EVERYONE involved in someone's life. Michelle Pfeiffer is a legend.. and she portrays Betty so well.

well, technically she isn't addicted. She doesn't know what's happening. the doctor is the one giving her all of the medicine and he told her that she can drink alcohol with it.

PTSD and Fight-or-Flight isn't dependent on substances. They just compound the issues.

Loving this show. I like them all but Michelle as Betty is the best. I hope and think she will get an Emmy.

🌷💗This was like holding hands with her. Not in addiction, but the mental stress of it all. A mother who’s felt this pain and needed to run!

FYI--- The day President Ford passed away I was house sitting for a friend whose house was a block away from the Ford Home in Alexandria, VA. Strange morning when I looked outside and saw 5-6 New Station Vehicle nearby. Walked over and was told Ford had passed away. I visited the house when it was for sale the previous year. Inside looks familar to the house used for this show. Perhaps 30+ years since the Ford's lived in the house...and still looked very 70's.. The outside of the house was totally different...the house was close to the street and I think there was a garage (that was used by Secret Service when Ford became VP). I think the pool-backyard area was smaller and not very fancy.

Pfeiffer is carrying this show as Ford. If the entire season had just focused on Betty Ford, the show would be better. Gillian is doing a good job as well.

They are excellent.... And Viola Davis is a great executive producer of the series. Not her finest acting though.

No question about it. She IS carrying this show. They should have focused just on Betty Ford. Michelle has never been better. Emmy all around for her! If you guys get a chance, you should read the relatively new biography (2018) of Mrs. Ford’s life titled; “Betty Ford: First Lady, Women’s Advocate, Survivor, Trailblazer” by Lisa McCubbin with a forward by Susan Ford Bales. Wonderful book!

I consider myself a well-read person but HOLY SHIT I had no idea. I know Ms. Ford was at the forefront of addiction care and that she was an addict herself, but I had no idea it was something she struggled with for literally decades. Wow.

They should have just made a two hour movie about Betty Ford starring Michelle Pfeiffer. It's the only watchable part of the show. The Eleanor roosevelt story has been done before and the Michelle Obama part is really uncomfortable to watch

I don’t Ford was a terrible man. He was a stereotypical one. Work vs family obligations. Betty and Gerry loved each other deeply. That’s obvious to anyone who has studied them and read their books.
