In this Physics video lecture in Hindi for class 11 we explained moment of inertia in rotational motion. We will see that in rotational motion kinetic energy of a rotating body does not directly depend upon its mass, but upon a quantity known as moment of inertia. The moment of inertia for a point mass m rotating about an axis making a circular motion with radius r is mr^2. The kinetic energy of a rotating object is half of the product of the moment of inertia and the square of the angular velocity. In simple words, the moment of inertia of a body is its inertia of rotation.
