In this talk, Dr. Amanda Maples (Curator of African Art at the North Carolina Museum of Art) encourages us to look closely at a Basket of Flowers motif necklace which is part of a full Senegalese jewelry ensemble. She discusses the process of its creation, history of the design, and the collaborations and choices made by the women who commissioned and wear these ensembles.
