Momentum Metropolitan Health on NHI Act

Momentum Metropolitan Health has added its reaction to the medical aid
sector’s criticism of the signing into law of the NHI Act.
The company’s Damien McHugh says the company doesn't have an issue
with the signing of the bill.
He says there are better ways that the private sector and government
can work together.

Nobody seems to bring up the fact that the ANC fk’d up the state hospitals in the 80 ‘s I went to a state hospital and got fantastic service so what happened 😢😢😢😢😢😢

Again someone speaking about inequality needing to be addressed. Ask the ANC what one of their main objectives as an organization is and I bet you they would say to address inequality. What have they been doing for the past 30 years? Clearly little to nothing. Shame on you ANC.

It would be a PR mess for Momentum if they publicly opposed the NHI. It is easier to talk around issues than to address them head on.

Let me point out something that no one seems to consider: we have one medical system,most health providers,doctors,nurses etc are trained in the public system...the tax payer is already covering the bill.Our private Healthcare practitioners come out of the public system.Now,why does the one seemingly performs better?

@@claytonhorn7195 I'm using government hospitals for 65 years and are still alive. They have emergency departments. A lady got a stroke & phoned old medic clinic in George. They said sorry no emergency dept. Go to George government hospital. They saved her. Dont fear.

The Private Healthcare Sector in SA is not without its faults. This NHI is a hardcore reality check for many of the role-players who have been profiteering exponentially for many years. A basic medical aid package is beyond most South Africans, now, faced with an existential threat, they are falling around, looking for answers. I'm not a proponent of the NHI, but I know from experience that some players in the private healthcare sector have been abusing South Africans with impunity and will now face their comeuppance. Congratulations, you have played yourselves.

ramaphosa's private and government business models dont make sense. We have more mac donalds shops across south africa than public hospitals. So guest what all you " fellow south africans " i want your happy meal money and your money for my governments failure to provide adequate medical care to citizens that don't have a mac shop in their area.

Why not give universal car allowance????? If you can afford a car that i can't... good for you. It is called LIFE. This is the ANC trying to move the spotlight from their thieving to hardworking people.

We have non fee paying schools, no complaints, we have sassa grants that assists a larger part of our families, no complaints, so why are there complaints about the NHI bill? My worry will come in wherein it's structuring is not done properly, if it can sustain our citizens then I am in.

Vat will go up by 15%to 22% that means what u will get is the food prices will go up with everything. We can 't barely afford food,don't cry if u have to pay R30 for a loaf bread, R250 or a bag of maizemeal etc.We as the poor people will suffered alot.Cause NHI is not for free as most people thinking,nothing is for free in this life. NHI is a good idea but we do not have billions every year for it,so we the poor people will die of hunger.

Do you understand this means exactly??? This will also increase tax which will increase groceries, which will keep the poor poor etc… it’s a whole cycle. Don’t be daft.
