Me and my family are on a trip to Gatlinburg right now and we just saw a bear right outside our cabin. We kept our distance and watched the bears as they were walking around. They are very beautiful and precious animals that should be kept in mind. Thank you guys for keeping distance from the bears.

@@flowerfairy1950 depends, if right before hibernation bears are more aggressive especially ones that dont have enough fat to hibernate. if they're hungry stay away. and no if you ever see a bear acting like this, you should make as much noise as possible with the intention of scaring it off, bears are cautious of humans because they dont recognize us, we want to do everything we can to keep that natural fear they have of us, or maybe the cubs when grown up will encounter a human and see it as nothing other then regular prey

We were in Gatlinburg in February before the pandemic with friends. We had been the October of 2019 with our youngest son. On that trip we had seen 7 bears total on that trip. I love nature and watching them climb trees or come down is thrilling each time I experience the view.

I live in Gatlinburg, thank you for being respectful. Too many of our bears have to be put down due to people feeding them and treating them like they are pets. We want to continue to live with them, as peacefully as possible. Please do not feed the bears.

Stacie Strachan that's so unfair! killing animals because of humans mistakes? oh how I despise human race, we only know how to destroy 😤😡
@wilburmcbride80965 жыл бұрын
Why do they put the bears down? Do they threaten people or they become nuisance animals?
@stacie11975 жыл бұрын
@@wilburmcbride8096 because they then see people as a source of food and are not scared of us. Most bears will run from people, not once they are fed regularly. They will approach people looking for food. And if that person doesn't have any, or runs.... Well, it could end badly for the person. Here in Gatlinburg, tourism is massive. Too many risks come with feeding any wild animals. And IF caught, there are large fines that come with it. People just get so excited when they see bears, as do I. They are gorgeous, but deadly animals. It's not fair for them to be euthanized due to our mistakes. Google or KZfaq bears in Gatlinburg. You will be amazed by all the stories and people getting WAY to close to them.

buster 53546 I watched a video of a female black bear chase a male up a tree to defend her cub. One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. That bear ran up that tree, then scrambled down taking every limb with with her and then back up again, fast, right below the male. If I had been the male bear I would have shit in the woods in front of God and everybody.

I live near gatlinburg and these are beautiful creatures. To be respected and left to their thing. Keep your distance and you are fine, approach one and you could find yourself in a tough spot. Its part of living in the smokies, even in the middle of town you never know. They will casually stroll right into stores or down the street. I had a young bear even walk up and sniff me down then wander off once. No panic or fear because he approached me. Pretty common sight in gatlinburg day and night. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AROUND THEM AND GIVE THEM SPACE!

We had something like that happen to us once when I was a child. We spent the night in this parking lot in the mountains between Tennessee and north Carolina and we were woken up in the middle of the night by a small black bear on the hood of our car and it wasn't even bothering us. It didn't try to attack or anything. It was just lying there on the hood just hanging out with us and being friendly, like it was saying "howdy, folks. How y'all doing?" The next morning, we woke up and the bear was gone. So we got out of the car to wake up and stretch our arms and legs and continued the rest of our vacation time there.

Cool video. We have black bears (sometimes with cubs) come through our property. Mostly, they just toss our trash cans and move on. If you don't mess with them, they usually don't mess with you. A few times, bears have managed to get inside peoples' vehicles and not be able to get out. I never would have imagined how a bear can destroy the inside of a vehicle, but it's pretty remarkable. To get them out, either someone opens the door and runs away, or a window is shattered and allows the bear to escape.
