My oldest sister puts mayonnaise in her instant mashed potatoes and honestly you can't taste the mayonnaise once it's mixed up good. I've ate them before and I can't stand mayonnaise either. I don't know the purpose behind it but it somehow works.

I cook. First thing before touching a ingredient is scrub your sink down! Wash hands often! While cooking!! Think typhoid Mary. Wash hands, kitchen clean. Specially the sinks!

It works, just put it back on the stove to cook on medium to low and evaporate the excess water, use less milk. For that brand of chip, maybe more chip, less water, cause their already cooked, you're just rehydrating them. Maybe also try pringles. 😉

Lol, yah, I’m that kid that loved Mayo, onion and Swiss cheese on everything just about, I still am, I like Swiss still in my scrambled eggs and, yes, I loved cinnamon toast but, I also was that kid and, still will just eat Mayo on my toast for breakfast, I could eat a onion like a apple 🍎 with my eyes watering! But, I will not do the chips mashed potato thing, I’d be adding butter before, I added Mayo, and, needs some pepper!

@sonyafox3271 ~ My problem with using a lot of mayo is the oils they use to make it. You can make your own using olive oil. It's more expensive, but much healthier.

She had to much water and didn't need the mayonnaise.Do not drain the chips. You only need 8oz of boiling water then stir until soft add a quarter cup of half and half. Stir until smooth.

Boil one cup of water, add three ounces of potato chips. Once the water is mostly gone and the chips look pasty add one third cup of half and half. Stir. No mayonnaise required. Do Not boil chips in a huge amount of water and drain like when cooking potatoes.

She didn’t let it boil long enough. It shouldn’t still clearly look like potato chips after boiling and don’t add that much water. Boil it longer while stirring and mashing. Add a little milk once the water is almost boiled out. Lower the heat. Keep stirring until a good consistency then add butter and PEPPER. You still got to season it. And SKIP the mayo. Mayo doesn’t go in everything 🙄
