Thanks Alia, I have been using the flex for my EP journey since februari and I am past 250 hours. I recently went to a store that offers a nice service, they use a little device to check te sucking strenght of the pump. After 250+ hours it is still going strong, its as strong as a new pump. When you EP, you need to replace pump parts pretty often and that is sooo expensive with the Flex! You cant buy only just a membrane, you can only get them with a connector. I would like it if Medela would sell them seperatly. Good to know for EP momma's who are considering buying this pump.

Just got the flex flown all the way here to the Philippines. Comparable to my other pump, the Spectra S1. Love your content Mommy!

I totally agree it is annoying that all of the pumps use different parts. I have 4 medela pumps and all have different parts and hoses.

Thanks for making the comparison! I wasn't a fan that they removed the memory function and wasn't sure if I'd regret getting the flex (which is partially covered by insurance, but original is not). I loved the original with my first and after using spectra with my second want to return to portable freestyle with third. I appreciate all your videos; they have been a tremendous help over the years!!

Thank you SO much for this review. So to clarify, the suction pattern is the same on both pumps (that vibration suction)? I didn't like the vibration on the freestyle (original). I want the flex but am trying to understand if it has that same vibration thing going on 😩

Hey!! I was wondering if you only could have one pump which would you choose ?? I’m pregnant with my second and so overwhelmed on which is best lol. I had the medela pump in style, looking for something that had better suction because i will be mostly pumping. Thank you so much in advance!! 😊❤️❤️

I had the sonata with my first and am trying to pick for my next. I really liked my sonata and still have it - it will only have been out of use for 6 months when my next babe gets here so I am hoping I will be able to use it again. I am an over supplier but found the sonata did a good job for me. I saw you had previously used the sonata -- do you think the flex has comparable suction?

I personally didn’t care for the suction of the Sonata and found it didn’t have a high enough frequency rate for me. The Flex on the other hand had a higher one and much more gentle. I really liked the Flex. I’d say the suction strength is comparable but the sensation of using them was much different in my opinion!

Hm, do you know why they have a lifespan? I actually did not know this but my Flex just random died on me after a year of use

Several companies have shared with me that it’s a requirement for the market to have one listed. I’m not sure on how accurate that info is but I’m inclined to believe them. I’ve also been told by a couple of companies the ones they list are bare minimum of what the pump can last for and most go well beyond that. Still for the price I wish most were much higher!
