@warrior4just Your comment came out of nowhere and made no sense lol. These are kittens, not lion “cubs”, and you’re humanizing felines in unrealistic ways. Firstly, toms don’t “see their offspring”. In a single litter the kittens will usually all have different fathers, who will never care for them or bother with their existence. They are entirely raised by their mother, and the concept of “owning” offspring doesn’t apply to animals. It’s a female’s instinct to attack any animals that come near her kits, ESPECIALLY a male cat, and ESPECIALLY when the kits are so young. The only other cat a mother would allow near her kits is her own mother, who would normally be raising another litter as well. This tom earned her trust, which goes against her natural instincts. Lastly, no, in any natural scenario where the mother is present, a male cat would not kill her or the kittens. He wouldn’t even try. No cat would risk injury and infection from getting absolutely shredded by a furious female- because they WILL risk injury to protect them. Attacking her simply on impulse would be unnatural behavior and the male would not live long enough to pass on that aggression.

I find it strange that you keep alluding to lions. They’re extremely different from domestic cats. For one, cats are not social animals, they’re solitary. The female isn’t “bound by what the male decides to to with her and the litter” because the male is not involved in any stage of raising said litter. She needs no protection from a male tom nor does she want it. Again, any male tom near her kittens will be immediately treated as a threat regardless of if he’s the father or not. I find it baffling that you’re so confident when it’s clear you don’t understand the biology and behavior of domestic cats, a strange thing considering that most of what I’ve told you (which you claim is wrong) is common knowledge and observable if you just stop and watch a stray cat in the street. Bad idea. Mom just gave birth and is letting dad, an imminent threat to the babies, be near them. Not to mention that he's grooming her because he wants to make a second litter and for no other reason. The only positive lesson that can be learned from this pair is to not murder your children.
