Monad Shoal Malapascua - Thresher Shark Diving

There is more than simply the diver’s encounter with the Thresher Shark down below at this shoal, the Monad. On Malapascua, undoubtedly, we were able to sense this connection and unique bond between the sharks and the locals on our recent visit.
We are fortunate enough to return to this beautiful island in the Philippines since this part of Asia is reopening again. Alongside our beloved friend, Paul who brings us the chance to experience the difference in perspectives and points of view both Above & Below at this place.
“If you go around on the island, there’s a lot of symbols like as the logo even in the school“ - “The kids don’t really know about diving, but they already know that the Thresher shark is very important”

I been diving there and saw this fantastic elegant sharks. Not only the sharks are fantastic, the whole Island malapasqua and the people there are amazing.

We were there in 2019. Did the thresher shark dive and then Gato island. Amazing footage as always! 🤟

Been there and will never come back. Dynamite fishing, overtourism and more made me really regret visiting this place. But still nice Video!

luckily I have different memories.I was there 2 months ago and spent 5 wonderful days.only sharks wanted to deceive us and moved to kimod

@@cherrieslover6800 I know ... but the diving companys are still trying to sell you monad shoal ^^... even they know there is no shark in 90% of cases :D

@@InfiniteBlue_ I can't quite agree with that. I was diving with Atlas and Jack said that we will do the first dive on monad and if there are no sharks we will move to kimod. it's not a zoo

@@cherrieslover6800 I know its not a zoo :D:D .... But everyone knows there that the sharks moved to kimud where the chance to see them is like 99 % ... I talked to many dive guides and they told me the big bosses are still trying to sell monad with the same arguments they told you. I asked for only dives at kimud but they regretted . For example, my girlfriend only wanted to do one dive with the threshers but the big boss of the shop told us she has to dive monad before she can go to kimud :D later on the boat the DM's just laughed and told me they are trying to sell any dive to anyone ... Same with all the other dive sites that were offered in this places. I asked to dive the wrecks or other dives sites but they regretted with the argument they had not enough customers. And at that time they had 60 Divers just in their shop :D:D:D But iam happy for you that you liked your stay and diving there. Lets just hope the sharks will be there in the future. For us the stay was just horrible as we had several dynamite explosions underwater and we found intact dynamite during a dive. Also there were days were they dropped more than 500 divers on kimud shoal. There were tons of Chinese just sitting in the corals ( as if there were a lot intact ones .... lol). And if you like fish? well forget it... the only small fish we saw were the ones that bumped into us on gato island when the explosions happened. I really love diving and I support every sustainable diving but in this places i couldn't find this.

very good people the blog I am going to the Philippines in 3 months and in the itinerary I have Malapascua and I want to go diving my question is if to see the thresher shark it is necessary to be a certified diver

Yes William, they usually only take advanced divers but check with the local operators!
