I think what makes Godzilla (at least, this version) so enjoyable is that even though he's a giant atomic lizard, he doesn't actually go out of his way to hurt humans unless they are trying to mess around, like they did with Mecha Godzilla. He doesn't go out of his way to eat people or crush them. If people get hurt, it's they are interfering with the big guy's business or in his way. He is a sentient category 5 hurricane. I'm saying this because too often in media there are big, predatory animals that are almost always depicted eating humans or simply killing them for no other reason than menace. Like, giant monsters would not eat a human over a fresh kill that is substantially bigger. They would expend too much energy over a tiny bit of food. A wolf doesn't eat the crow that hangs around the carcass of a kill, unless the crow is harassing the wolf.

I was waiting for this series to finally come out and expected so much more, but nearly everything about this series was disappointing. I was expecting far more monster lore and history than we got and instead we got characters with seemingly zero-to-little relevance to the series spread their crybaby backstories across 10 episodes with the occasional monster lightly sprinkled in. The title was almost entirely off the mark since it did little to explore Monarch (somehow revealing less than we already know about them), the actual monsters that got less than 10mins of screen time within a (so far) 10 episode series with 38-50min episodes, and the main characters continually bouncing around between “lets uncovers secrets” and “its not my business, i wanna go home”.

Godzilla x Kong was like the Thor ragnorok of the monsterverse but the way Godzilla is captured in this show goes back to the first movie with proper lighting the scaling and the way they capture the human’s perspective of the destruction Godzilla causes is peak Godzilla content in the next movie we need more of this because in GXK these mofos killed thousands and flatline all kinds of buildings and homes during there epic but also colorful and at times goofy show down 😂. Let’s be real how many people didn’t die when Godzilla suplexed Kong off a pyramid it was fun as hell but don’t over do it look what happened in Thor love and thunder it didn’t work twice because they over did it imo scale it back a bit in the next one even address the damage caused in the last movie. The military ain’t wrong about wanting to take emergency controls these mofos kill thousands everytime they get into one of there throw downs. I’d like a bit darker toned movie maybe even a Godzilla vs humans movie since Godzilla don’t give a fuck about humans and technically we pose the biggest threat to the planet plot armor has been what has made Godzilla not go against humans completely yet and napping in the coliseum😂
