RIP Bill Anders. I hadn’t heard till now, thanks Gary. Love ICM’s Marauder kit and now, with figures. 👍🏻 The ambulance set is mighty interesting too, especially if one needs a break from building tank and other AFV models.

Hi Gary, I hope you are well and everyone here too. Re: your question about the British figures being easily changed to ANZAC. Depends how accurate you want to be. The Australians Jacket was a completely different pattern to the British Pattern of jacket. Most noticeably are the lower patch pockets. Of course you could probably find the slouch hat (which originally was a British Pattern for the Boer Wars, turned up on the left side so the Troops could ‘Slope Arms’ without knocking their hats off) as a 3D printing. Their Badges of Eank were also slightly different. Probably nothing at this scale but you could paint it (a friend did) Overall, I think you could do it but you would need some advanced skills, particularly at 1/35. Anyone can message me for further info 😊

Great to see a new 1/72 model of the DH 88 Comet, I can't help feeling Airfix have missed the boat yet again, especially considering their new release of the mosquito. Airfix fans have been crying out for the DH 88 comet for years. I've always maintained that De Havilland made some of the most photogenic aircraft ever built arguably culminating with the Mosquito. I can't help thinking the Dragon Rapide could be due for a re-release, or hopefully a new 1\72 tooling.

Just back from a walk with the dog Heard thre cuckoo , spotted 3 Buzzards and a pine marten Come back home and get notification of Monday madness as i call it Lol 😂 The week is downhill after now .lol😂

Excellent roundup as usual Gary. The Comet does look nice, but a 1/48 or even 1/32 would be nicer. Also, a very good tribute to the late Bill Anders. Like him, I preferred the "upright" version of his "Earthrise" photo, and it was this way that I hung my print on my teenage bedroom wall.

Thanks from across the pond on tribute to Major General Andres, I watched the mission has it happened , When Earthrise came out I took a picture of Hope Arch in Arizona and put the Moon in it like a reference homage . I suspect he encountered G- lock, ( happens to young as well as experienced pilots ) loop in a T34 is difficult at the altitude he tried. I'm in the Pacific Northwest and you've really got to watch the weather I wish they had not shown the crash on TV out of respect for a great man and his family. Regarding the BV seaplane, I know you were serious, however 690 pounds? I didn't want to buy the whole plane. You know manufactures , the cost of molding is expensive but how can they justify that kind of price ? Like the 1/32 Lancaster at same cost a while back. I'm puzzled I can barely go 100 quid max. I know what you mean about the BV, that's crazy money. Maybe they were commissioned to make one and thought, why not use the moulds? As for Bill, he was 90 years old and I'm not sure how much abdominal clenching he could do (probably more than me, to be fair) so g-loc a distinct possibility.

Today, Kotare announced the start of pre-orders for their upcoming Spitfire Mk Va including Douglas Bader's Va as an option. Pre-ordered kits will include the 3D printed resin exhausts as a bonus.

To convert those British soldiers in the Dardanelles kit to ANZACs would simply require changing the caps to slouch hats. Uniform and weapons would probably have been identical. I think that last year you did show a couple of kits of WWI Aussies in motor cars. Can't remember the maker, but ICM is calling out "Twas us!". Good to see this inclusion of Johnny Turk. It was a hard time for the grunts on both sides of the line. At the end of the war, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Ottoman commander and later founder of Turkey gave a speech in which he praised the ANZACS and told the grieving Aussie and Kiwi mothers that their sons would forever be honoured by the Turks. What is also needed are Indian troops who were there in their hordes.

The two ANZAC drivers are in set 35707 there are four infantry figures in set 35685 from ICM, but I also see they did a Gallipoli set of four ANZACs and four Turks in set DS3501!

As you are from a raf backgroud as am i. How do you feel about rishi sunak disrespecting vets like our parent by leaving early from D day event? I am livid. My dad did years in raf. And he cold not do one day. Very sad

Misjudged and entirely disrespectful IMHO. Not only to the veterans but also to the other world leaders who stayed to pay their respects together. He'll probably blame his spads or a scheduling snafu, but it's his call.

Nowhere near as bad as Hyperscale and associated outlets/publications where it’s non-stop Eduard Bf109’s at the moment! I hope you do a build of one of those D-Day Mustangs Gary. I’ll be interested to see what you make of the notorious Eduard decals.
