I have to laugh. You said that when your kids were younger you always wanted things very clean and now you are not as strict with yourself. I am completely backward. When they were younger, I gave myself the grace to be in the moment with them and didn't worry if the sink was full of dishes or the laundry was folded let alone how clean my base board were. LOL! I was way too busy with babies 22 months apart to care about how clean and neat my home was. Then became too busy homeschooling and the not caring kept up. Now, that they are getting older is when my cleaning OCD kicks in. They are old enough to follow along with the lesson plans and only come to me when they have questions and need help. NOW I have the time to care. Now is when I go the extra mile. Just today, I swept and mopped my floors and then swiffered all my ceilings and walls also took the time to clean all my ceiling fans. My house smells soooo good. LOL! These are the things I didn't have time for when they were young and actually, I'm glad I didn't, I got to really enjoy my babies.

Love this, to is Tuesday 6/11 when I'm watching this and this morning a sink full of dishes, I said to myself I'm going out for an early morning walk I'm sure the dishes won't mind. There will always he more dishes, laundry, and dust be we don't know how many days any of us have so take a little time out no matter what and enjoy tjis gift of life

I was blessed with only one child. And I told myself I would not be one of those parents that hid their baby away from everyone and place. We would not be quiet because the baby was sleeping. My husband was on a bowling league, she was there at two weeks old. And was sleeping. I told her Dr. she would have asthma and allergies. And she did. She once had an asthma attack and pneumonia but had not told her Dad that she was feeling bad. I was at work. And she was helping her Dad move baby chick's and shear Lamas . That time she did end up in the hospital. And Drs and other health people would say that she should not be around all the animals that we had at the time. It would make her so mad. She would say I'm not getting rid of my animals. We would have her on the beach under a umbrella in her car seat as a small baby. She was exposed to many different people and places her whole life. And she says that when her and her husband have a child that she will do the same with them. That makes me feel like we did something right with her.🌅🐚🦩

Experience comes , for me, with mistakes/ failures I’ve been gardening for years in a subdivision can’t begin to tell you of the fails and wins. You’re correct we need to learn all the time ❤❤❤

Life is so different than when I was coming up in the 70’s everyone ate at same time and it was rare to go back after supper to snack, I have grands and we all eat at different times and different foods . I buy food the grands like and they use the air fryer and it’s rare for them to eat when I cook a big meal .

I totally agree about lowering expectations. I am 67 and if I don’t have a super clean house, it is just fine. I will get to it. I use to be the mom who would clean, work, and take care of kids. I am enjoying my life with my retired husband and 3 grandkids. Life is too short!

I remember an Oprah episode where she said in your 30's you worry about people's opinion and say yes to all things, in your 40's you start to pick and choose and say "No" to things, and in your 50's you don't give a Hoot, you do what you want!!! I agree! I used to clean up after each activity, but now some things can wait, laundry, dishes, cleaning will be done again, again, and again, we can take a break and give ourselves grace.
