Great thrift store find! I happened across a wooden humidor that had a Dunhill flake tin in it. When I opened it, I found flakes still in the tin. Sometimes you find something good, but, as you said, more often than not you don’t. Nice to see you got lucky.

Thats a great find you had! I have seen old tobacco tins with tobacco in them still, but nothing close in quality to an old Dunhill blend.

I tried a tin of this and for me it was absolutely awful! It the taste lingered in my mouth for at least 48 hours, we hear of ghosting our pipes well it did that and ghosted my mouth, nothing would get rid of the rancid taste and the house was smelling awful too. Bad batch maybe but I’ll never touch it again. Great finds there, well spotted.

I remain surprised that the blend is not for me, because most of the Peterson blends are great to me. Have a great pipe week

I like the description of your name. I tend to freight train too, which unfortunately is not good for getting flavor from aromatics. I’m working on it, trying to slow my cadence but it usually doesn’t work. lol. I tried some 965 & didn’t like it, thought it had a weird taste but after a 2nd try I sort of liked, & I don’t like many. Haven’t tried it since then so who knows. 👍😃

I'll slow down for aromatics and other blends at times. It helps me to have something distracting to do at the same time, like a hobby or reading. Or making a video. Have a great pipe week
