Bat Check - I always love it when i turn back after the hit to see the catcher looking at my "Wooden" Bat showing the umpire and the Ump would shrug his shoulders like WTF it's Legal

Try an old Dude league - my area one dubbed the Monument League ... as in grave monument, spots do 'suddenly' open up

Doesn't this league have a contact rule??Runners are half way down the 3rd baseline as the pitch is thrown.Call that out before an illegal bat...

In most leagues you can lead off. You can get picked off by the catcher tho

@@dwhlilhud WTF Leagues/assoc. allow that? I have been playing slowpitch for nearly 30 years all over the country, and while I have seen stealing allowed.... never leading off.

@@bluecreekroad I don't see how stealing is allowed. In nearly every league out here in so cal you can lead off as much as you want after the pitch but like I stated before the catcher can pick you off if you're not back to the base before they throw over there. Stealing makes absolutely no sense in slow pitch.

@@dwhlilhud I agree 100%. If I'm not mistaken, an association called ISA in the southeast allows/ed it. A military league I was in about 20 years ago adopted the stealing rule for 1 summer season, then did away with it. The rule was no leading off, and you had to wait until the ball crossed the plate before stealing. Steals had like a 99% success rate. It was pretty ridiculous. Like I said, I've never heard of or seen it in slowpitch, but I'd be interested to play a game that allows leading off

Still to this day , they asking if illegal bats .. wow times still the same after I stopped playin 10 years ago.. wow, people still goin middle now more than before .. just to easy for me.

Yeah middle's a cheap shot in my book - the mound is just too close - then again if a cut goes bad, dribblers back are sad

@@jrey6186 Could solve that easily. Put a pitching net up in front of the mound. If you hit it, you are out. You go up the middle in slow pitch for one of two reasons. 1. You are a dick 2. You can’t hit The net protects against the inexperienced player. And punishes the dick for being a dick without putting the pitcher at risk. Easy peasy.

You do understand that are different levels of competitiveness in softball... just like any other sport, right? This is obviously just a random rec level "beer" league.
