Once seen an injured Raccoon, with his whole family entourage standing behind him/her when she came up to take some crackers I offered out of my hand. The little paw brushed my hand in the exchange, they are very intelligent creatures.

Yes right! And because he feeds the new baby raccoons every year too they'll probably stretch the name into something like, "SantaCoon." You know with the big guy all dressed up in the raccoon hat and how they like to sit up so close and all around him as he hands out special tasty gifts and treats. Conner will probably be mentioned as one of the reindeer too.

@@Tattiehoker No, sorry. He's married. He has two cats at home, too, that he adores, and now, he has one in his repair shop that he gets to spend all day with. The guy is a gem. He gets to work sometimes 2 hours early so he can feed all the wildlife that live in the woods near his shop.

He has, he's been feeding raccoons for 20 years and knows them through multiple generations.

You are so blessed to have so many well behaved neighbors. I have a Doberman who unfortunately has been attacked 4x by loose pitbulls. Now he's. Prejudiced against them ( with good reason) unless he knows them personally. He's never seen a raccoon. God bless you and your furry friends. They're so we'll behaved.

I, too am fascinated with them. I have my nightly visits, and it is such a joy to sit and watch them eat. Those faces hypnotizes me. Such a joy and brings calmness over me. Better then watching the trash on television. I cannot go to bed until I have my nightly visitors. (Raccoons and Opossums) I allow them to come right into my kitchen and also Patio. Such a pleasure to have them around. I think they are in the trees in my area, as I very seldom see them in the daytime. Only early mornings and at night.

Opossums are more fun. They look fearless with razor sharp, needle-like teeth. I just cram a piece of banana in their mouth and they go on their way but my Gawd do they ever stink.

Yes they are they fight like toddlers because they are afraid ones getting more food than the other 😂

Yes I hope Buddy has a sweet tooth. I think when he went without for almost a week he did some soul searching and self talk... Why am i hungry and all those raccoons are having a feast.. He decided to bulldoze back in and get behind the bench... Notice he came in up the other railing tonight so he didnt run into two babies in his roost.. I think going hungry sharpened his strategy and determination..
