Poor guy to lose his mother so young. He must have had a very difficult childhood after that loss so deserves success and happiness now.

Both of them look like candid people indeed. Jon is visibly tired but he puts a smile on his face as often as he can.

His analysis of bullying omits the important factor that the majority of kids who bully were themselves bullied or are being bullied, often by their own parent(s) or siblings. Kids who bully need to be disciplined, but also they need someone to investigate what’s going on in their lives.

"Why do we love Don Draper?" *zooms in on Jon Hamm's face*. Hmmm, I wonder why.

Yes he is very handsome... But I also think it's because he (Don draper) was deep down a very descent guy.. he was against Joan prostitutioning herself for the firm... He didn't mind asking black people for advice, in a very racist time. And he never forced himself on a woman (unless if they liked it that way) like other men of the time. Am I wrong?

Early 1950s through '60s American tv had a few brunette girls-next-door before Marlo Thomas's That Girl: played by bobbysoxers Natalie Wood on a shortlived sitcom; Gale Storm on My Little Margie; Sherry Jackson as Danny Thomas's teen daughter on Make Room for Daddy (and later in the series Angela Cartright as his child stepdaughter Linda); Sheila James, first as star of a sitcom "Jackie" and then as "Zelda" on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis; Annette Funicello on The Mickey Mouse Club skits; Harriet Nelson on The Ozzie and Harriet Show; Shelley Fabares on The Donna Reed Show; and Elinor Donohue as the teen daughter on Father Knows Best, brunette Jane Wyatt playing her mother.

It's interesting that none of the executives at AMC came right out and told Jon Hamm directly that he got the part of Don Draper. Hamm flew to NYC after about 6 or 7 auditions, met with 3 of the executives for drinks at a Manhattan hotel, and afterwards on the elevator ride down to the main floor, one of the producers said, "I guess you figured out that you got the job." Replied Jon, "I didn't know, but thank you for letting me know." In the minds of the executives, he was such an unknown and a high risk in a risk-averse business, that no one wanted to put themselves on the line and say, "You got the part", otherwise, that person would have lost their job if Mad Med had gotten cancelled.

I think it's about redemption. We all have flaws, for sure. Although, I was married to a guy like Don -- as far as infidelity. Thank God Don wasn't abusive physically. The one time he pushed Betty back, I have to say: my jaw dropped. In regards to why Don was a bad boy, he didn't know who he really was. The way he grew up on the show, obviously had a lot to do with his character. He never really showed true love feelings. If this were real life, this kind of personality would be considered having an detachment disorder. My father was like Don, as well. Maybe that was what pulled me in. My father & my first husband was very nice looking. They say women married their fathers. I'm glad that he didn't beat Betty. And yeah, he is so breath taking. He has this strong appearance. This bigger than like personality. He's a man's man & a woman's man.

Psychology Today had described it like something typical of "child abandonment syndrome", and I think the word for his dual identity is "compartmentalization". The character named Leonard that Don meets in the finale is key to understand most of his internal struggle, I guess. Once you listen to that monologue a lot of pieces of the puzzle fall into place.

If Jon Hamm wasn't so intelligent, the character of Don Draper would not have been half as compelling. Yes, the writing and production are great, but he is the secret ingredient.

Jon Hamm and Don Draper : the perfect marriage (if the right word) of an actor and a character. He's so good in this role.... almost too good. Sadly, I think no matter what Hamm does going forward he'll never be as good as he was as Draper. He'll do fine work for sure, but not at the Draper / Madmen level....

Clint Eastwood, I always had a crush on him....until he took up for Trump's disposition. He and Jeff Daniels. Now, I would like to really understand if Clint likes Trump or just taking up for him. I just can't see him being the man's man that he is, liking someone as shallow as Trump.

He’s seems to be such a nice guy and out of the blue he had to introduce partisanship into the conversation. He just burst my balloon and represented himself as just another Hollywood liberal. There are I’m sure many other people he could have chosen to point to as bullies. They just can’t help themselves. Too bad.
