Applied Energistics 2 is a mass storage mod for Minecraft that offers the player a network-based storage system, allowing them to store items and fluids on a massively expandable device network.
This mod not only adds storage solutions, but also devices that can be used to manipulate items and blocks in the world and from within the system, such as importers, exporters, external storage using other mods and more! There are also devices in this mod that allow the player to setup auto-crafting, allowing the crafting of complex recipes in a few simple clicks.

22:08 you can manually type decimals in the amount selection (would be 0.5 here) to use millibuckets of fluids. I found this out from the Create mod recipe for fluix crystals which uses 250 mb of water with the ingredients in the Mechanical Mixer, so I set it to 0.25 and it worked.
@ViciousVinnyD
@ViciousVinnyD 11 ай бұрын
btw unless you want a drive full of water for transport you can just place a storage bus on the sink and it will use the sink for water storage, which is infinite. after realizing your system now holds 2.14M water, which is made of matter, you can place import busses on all 5 sides of an interface to pull fluid as fast as possible out of the sink storage bus (which you set to extract only so it doesn't dump back into the sink) and into the storage bus you placed on the side of a matter condenser, causing it to shit out singularities at stupid fast per second because you just upended a bottomless sink worth of water into it.

I'm interfacing ae2 storage & processing controls with modern industrialization, it's working great (though not always my first try at it 😂 ) thanks for putting these tutorials out.

After spending a few hours trying to get Inscribers, etc to work with Autocrafting, this is so far the best tutorial about advanced Autocrafting in AE2. The only thing I wish it would be mentioned (and maybe I missed it), is regarding Pattern Providers with subnetworks and ME Interfaces. This is something still trying to get my grasp on it.
@Mondays3
@Mondays3 Жыл бұрын
I personally don’t really use subnetworks so not too sure. Most people use subnetworks for separate on demand systems. So think of a subnetworks like a normal system and then just plug it into a main system. Don’t try and half and half a system between your main and a subnetwork
@techwizsmith7963
@techwizsmith7963 11 ай бұрын
The basic idea there is you use a pattern provider to push the required ingredients into the Interface of a sub network, or a completely separate and unconnected system. You may connect it with a Quartz cable, which allows it to share power without actually connecting them. The sub network of course would then send all of the ingredients to be processed as necessary. If I remember correctly, the pattern provider will also look for the output and try to take it, at which point you just put it into the interface for the provider to claim. If not, simply put an input bus from the main network onto the interface, filtered to only pull the output

At 39:40, you can actually compress 256 (8x32) channels on one 8 channel cable if you use p2p tunnels, and those are especially helpful with subnetworks, as well as, you don't need as many dense cables, especially on longer stretches, from your controller to your device on the other side of the building. It's been a while since I've played with AE2, but I think in my Revelation world, if I got one of the tunnels powered through an energy acceptor, it would also power the controller, but don't quote me on that. Worst case, you're still getting 5x8x32 channels off of a single controller block, which is pretty awesome. Unless you have several machines doing the same thing in parallel (ore processing, enrichment, gas and fluid production and storage, separate drawer controllers with storage buses for every type of item, grouped by mods), you're probably not even going to need a second block. I seriously love p2p tunnels, and I'm using them in every network I build.
@Mondays3
@Mondays3 Жыл бұрын
Each side of a controller block can only supply 32 channels. Mean that you can get 192 channels from 1 block. However 1 channel is needed to power the controller so that leaves 191 channels to send anywhere else. Besides that I have a video explaining all things p2p. Basically though 256 channels is the most amount of channels you can put through a single dense cable. That is using 32 p2p tunnels from 32 sides of a controller brain. I explain more in detail in my video. You are close with all the information. Not sure where you got 8*32 though at the start as a cube only has 6 sides and not 8 lol
@longbow192
@longbow192 Жыл бұрын
@@Mondays3 that would be 8 channels between the P2P tunnels, since you can only use a normal cable, but if you attach the "source" tunnel, so to speak, directly to a controller face, and power it externally through an energy acceptor, since it can't get power directly from the controller, you can connect it to 8 other tunnels, each supplying 32 channels in turn. Unless it wasn't intended, and the author patched it, it should work. It works in 1.12.2, as far as I can tell. Then again, I might have completely misunderstood TheMindCrafters' tutorial 5 years ago. That's a definite possibility, and I just made a complete fool of myself. I was honestly thinking that if I could avoid using a cable between the controller and tunnel, I could get around the 32 channel per face limitation. That would also explain why my wither farm couldn't get any channels, lol
@Mondays3
@Mondays3 Жыл бұрын
@@longbow192 It's a good theory but there is no way to get around the 32 channel limitation and yes the p2p must use a channel to power both ends. The cable in between p2p tunnels can be powered separately though
@longbow192
@longbow192 Жыл бұрын
@@Mondays3 yea, the simple cable seems to be powered by the controller through the first tunnel. So one might presumably still need a second controller block if one plans to use more than 32 channels worth of autocrafting (upside down Christmas tree). Well, lesson learned 😁 Damn, I was so sure I was onto something 😂

38:50 If machines do not allow two-way transfers (red + blue boxes for Thermal Series and Purple for Mekanism) you can still reduce channel usage by having up to 5 machines share an ME Interface BLOCK (not the terminal version). Interfaces can act like export busses except they can connect to more than one machine. Obviously if your machine allows for two-way transfers the pattern provider is all you need. Be sure auto=eject and import is on in each machine, people often overlook it. One problem I'm having is after letting my server run during my work week I came back to having TONS of Infusion Crystals (Mystical Agriculture) and Presses (AE Infuser). I've tried a few ways of solving this such as telling the machine that one press + one ingot = one processor and one press, but that's not working well. I'd rather not have FIVE Advanced Inscribers (one for each type and the empty one to make finished processors) as that breaks anyway if/when a single ingot enters the empty one if the system tries to inject more than a stack of ingots into the one with the related press. So I either end up with more presses than I ever need OR a broken autocrafting system. :(
