In his head he knows the number that he can jump when everything lines up. Felt like he was dodging a little but I get it. Gotta get that bag while you can and he's still young.

As soon as people mention money others don't like it. So he avoided saying he makes more doing 1cm higher and then stopping.

Yeah but that's a dangerous game. One year passes and all of a sudden you cannot explode the same as you used to and your numbers start falling. Sure he may improve further, but this may also be his prime, and not going for the outlandish jumps now might mean he doesn't reach his potential. Everyone is different, you never quite know when an athlete has peaked until it's gone. I understand building the record, but he cannot guarantee his future athletic form and health. I'd go for the maximum now, cement something unreachable in the history books.

@@Alchemistic88Last year in Eugene, real time analysis reported 6.36m on his WR 6.21 jump. If he wanted, he could have attempted that figure, and what if he did. He’s still motivated to get higher, and he’d be about 6.5m if he sets as many WRs as Bubka’s 35.

I’m sure Mondo has a career goal. My guess is 6.30.

His dad represented Sweden...so he has chosen to follow in his footsteps...he is a dual citizen of the USA and SWEDEN

America doesn’t really offer much of a way to make money in track and field compared to European countries. Track and field isn’t like basketball or football or soccer where there’s tons of money anywhere. Understand that it’s not just a matter of pride who athletes represent, but a matter of career. Mondo also lives in Sweden at least sometimes now.
