@andnor
@andnor 4 жыл бұрын
@@vallewabbel9690 True as this may be, making more profit than just a few deniers is preferable, if one has 100 mules and 100k denairs then ofc, bulk trading this way is an excellent strategy. Also, understanding the numbers instead of "green buy, red sell" helps one understand the mechanics behind and the profit margin per trade. Some times (at least the cheaper goods) baught green and sold red may yield as little as 1-5 denairs per sale, which usually does not even cover the cost of the guards for the trip, better to save it 1-3 towns over where you can make 5-20 denairs profit per sale. How ever, some times people prefer to play the little trader that could, instead of the tycoon. wealth as a warmongering lord is one thing, playing the trader another. Personally, i like lists, and this is a fairly good one.

@@andnor buying green and selling ref was a good and easy starting point for me. With trade rumors acquired through trading in different cities I quickly got a grasp of the prices myself. The biggest problem I have with this list is that it doesn't (and can't) factor in trade skill buffs so overrelliance on it will fuck you over eventually.

A pottery works really well in Vostrum made me 700-800 gold when I had it before I made my own faction. Pay attention more to how many of the raw materials the shop gets and how cheap it is and how expensive the final item sells for. Vostrum had two villages that produced grain for beer in the city, while there are no clay villages for pottery yet my pottery shop made 400 more gold than the brewery.

Another thing I found is if you enter a settlement and check in the upper left to see how much “Goods to market” they have preferably +6 and then follow this video you’ll see that workshop make 350+ without tending to it. I made a brewery in one of the Empire cities (can’t remember, doesn’t matter) it had 2 wheat fields making grain and the settlement had a super high prosperity with a +7 goods to market. Just something that worked for me if you want to take the extra step and double check/try out.
@Pikeno008
@Pikeno008 4 жыл бұрын
If you want high profit, don't make Breweries, they tend to use grain , even if the city has a high suplus of grain, if a war starts and nearby villages/city get raided or sieged, the citizens will use all grain and your production will be damaged. After you open the city painel, look up on the 3 city's workshops to check what there is already, in case the city produces a lot of hardwood and there is one wood workshop already, go and buy it, or for example, if a city and nearby villages have a production of 50+ Clay, you can absolutely go for a pottery , try to aim for luxury itens since they are not too much affected by sieges or raids and are more dependent on caravans and villagers travelling around. I have 5 Potteries around the map, each making 500+ gold a day, and that's after the bug fix.
@TubularToob
@TubularToob 4 жыл бұрын
Alexandre Bitencourt From what I’ve seen, potteries are extremely profitable even in areas that don’t have high clay production too. I’m not sure if it’s intended to be this way, I’m curious to see if this is changed in the future.
@Pikeno008
@Pikeno008 4 жыл бұрын
@@TubularToob Yeah! I've been doing a lot of tests in all areas, it's seems that potteries are the best because of how much base clay cost 20-30, and potteries sells around 100, it's the highest workshop item price.

Used your graph to make my first 20k gold, now im a vassal of the horse boys with 350 k in the bank! I noticed the chart is missing a few goods but is still super helpful. Something I noticed is the cheap prices were only ever villages. Towns never really got that low in terms of buy price. Also if a town is linked to a village it is usually well stocked in whatever those villages produce.

Thanks for yet another great video! I've got to disagree on the "never have more than one workshop in the same town"-statement. Another factor for deciding what kind of workshop to build, is what there is a lack of in the world in general. In my game, I discovered that pottery was crazy expensive everywhere, since there were only pottery workshops in towns who had no easy access to clay. I found a town with a large amount of clay, and actually ended up building three pottery workshops there. Because the demand world wide was high enough, they ended up earning me more money, than e.g. a smithy in a town with easy access to iron, or a woodshop in a town with easy access to hardwood did. My first potter made around 600 a day. When I build two, they ended up earning around 400 each. Once I build the third one, they all earned around 350 each.
@zetner1234
@zetner1234 4 жыл бұрын
Oh, another point I just remembered: Since pottery is quite rare in my game, I also have the advantage of knowing one city that always sells pottery way below market value. I go there, buy everything they have, and sell it in other cities at double the price.

As of patch 1.10 buying a smithy in Marunath has always gotten me at least 200+ income. Pen Cannoc in most games always has 3 clay villages and as long as if Batania isnt being gang banged then it'll net you around 200 - 450 denars from my experince. Another good spot is Jacculan if the Vlandians are doing good, they usually got 2-3 villages producing olives so get a olive press for 150-250 denars. One more I typically like to go for is Sanala or Askar, they usually got grain in abudance and either one or both in your game if your lucky will have lots of grain and net around 250+ a week with a brewery.

couple things to note, always buy workshops in cities that you will never end up in war with. found out the hard way as i was a vassal to Aserai and they went to war with Battania, which i had bought a workshop in one Battanian city, it was immediately lost even though i did not start the war, so build your workshops in cities that you will always be allied with, either because it is your kingdom or one that you will always be a vassal of or at least allied to. Also, you can control the market further by going around and buying up whatever resource your workshop makes and coming back and dumping it onto the city your workshop is located in. for some reason and this is probably broken, the workshop will start turning mad profit. it sent me from 6k to like 600k in a matter of days, with a daily income of around 12-16k every day from just two wood workshops, no joke. i only had to dump hardwood into the city just the initial one time and that was it, off to the races. workshops are definitely key to making large sums of money. i hadn't even hit clan tier 2 yet and money is no longer even an issue, i can buy everything i want, outfit all my companions in top gear and horse armor and still have plenty of money left to buy tons of horses and food. like i said probably broken but pretty satisfying nonetheless to be such a small fish in the game but be filthy rich already. another thing i do is disregard the troop limit, even though it constantly warns about being slow and men deserting. literally only a cpl leave a day and it doesn't slow enough to be a problem, so im always fielding a larger army than im allowed but the extra men still fight in the battles so i buy them up every stop and keep way over the max limit. there really isnt much of a downside.

Hey just a quick tip. When trading items Left-Shift moves 5 of an item while Right-Shift moves the whole stack. It only works on items, not prisoners or troops, but you can for example hold Right-Shift and press Left Click on the arrow and you will buy all 500 of the town's grain supply. It's handy when doing mass trading with stacks of 500+ of trade goods.

Got a follow-up strategy to that for making money. Bit later in the game but works perfectly. Can't be member of faction tho and need to have a decent army around 100 units. Can be tricky to pull off so create a backup save. Also the trait from trading with 15% less barter peanalty helps. 1) Wait for 2 kingdoms to go to war 2) Find recently taken over castle or town (will have a lot less defenders). 3) Raid a village to start a war with the faction holding the fief you wanna get. 3) Siege and pray so the massive army doesn't screw you up. 4) Take a castle/town. 5) Find some noble from this faction 6) Pay some money to make peace. 7) You just got yourself a fief that will take 10-20 days to repay you costs of the peace treaty. 8) Rinse and repeat. 9) Profit.

There are cities that have 3 villages that provide extremely cheap local goods for good AFK workshop profit. The cities are Askar down south-east for brewery from grain then the second best is Weavery in Balthakan that turns sheep into wool and the last one is Jaculan for Oil press that turns olives into oil. You get number of workshops equal to clan level+1. So later on for fourth workshop I would recommend smithy as it produces higher level armor and weapons - such as horse armor and similar and passive income is not as important then and there.

Just buy medium expensive weapons, melt them into iron and high quality iron, then sell it by red and orange prices (its often more expensive to sell in the down section of map) and you will make like 3-4 times more money than you paid for the weapons.

Get the efficient Charcoal ( and most of the bottom "discover stuff" on the Smithing line) you can get quite far just busting up goods (for massive profit if you just resell the metals where they are expensive). You could make anyone into an apprentice Blacksmith, but you would be looking at a few levels spent devoting focus / stats. The apprentice doesn't need to be great, just another character that can use their Smithing Stamina to generate resources for you, and they would learn all the better Refine stuff along the top of Smithing line. Due to the learning focus thing it is a long term to get a companion 5 focus, and any Endurance.

I think in the past (before they made changes) Woodshops were the absolute best workshops. But now some sort of economy system is in place the workshop actually "eats" the resource to make money so it is important to build a workshop in a City that is A: is prosperous and B: has villages with that resource. So far I've been having success finding Cities with villages that produce Grain and then building a Brewery. There is also a small trick you can do, which is build a workshop in a city that doesnt produce that resource. It will make the resource "scarce" in the city, and while you will get minimal income from the workshop itself you can make a killing via trade. Example I made a workshop in Vostrum which doesnt have a wood village. After some time the city ran out of wood and it started selling for 40-50 gold. I then buy hardwood all over the map for like 13-18 gold each. I got 12k capacity by then so I filled up on hard wood and sold it for massive profit. Since there was an influx of wood the workshop also became extremely profitable for a few days and when the income goes small again I kmow thats the time to sell more wood. Making that artificial demand is also how I raised my trading skill.

Build a clothier in town A without flax that has clay and build a pottery in town B without clay that has flax. Buy clay in A and sell it in B, buy flax in B and sell it in A. That way you don't waste time on traveling. I don't like to build Carpenters, because I need the wood to make charcoal to level smithing.

You forget to mention, to change a workshop currently version e1.0.7 cost 2000 gold each time. PS: If you're at war, or your faction declares war where your workshop allocated, your workshop lost for forever. Workshop in the most eastern/western side it seems the cheapest to buy around 13000 gold, while with empire/imperial culture cost around 15000 gold.

There is an easier way of seeing what the town produces / what materials they get from the villages: just hover over the hammer symbol (right above "Name" @ trade menu)

If you pay attention to the color (Red for high, Green for low) of the prices on the tooltip, you can avoid a chart. Buy things with Green (at least 25% cheaper than average) and sell with Red, and you can basically guarantee a profit. If you see non colored prices, its average, which you can sell or buy, but won't make as much as you would off Green / Reds. Also remember that the Prices are 'live' and if you see a sell price of xxx - xxx listed on the tooltip, it means that the price will change as you buy / sell the good. If they realllly have a need for something, you might see over 100% of average price, but it will usually drop as you sell them. And, animals (and horses) can become food in an emergency.

I tried a tactic where all of the party was just high level archers and a few cavlalry then run circles around then while the archers take them dozen by dozen...... works well on smaller armies that have less archers then your party..... behind the lines attack on enemy lords while they try to gather troops for battle.... all the while your lords are besieging castles.... like a sneaky assassin build

Right click on the city name. Look at its prosperity level and take notice of the villages attached to the city. Low prosperity levels means low trade which equals less money being made from your workshop. Afterwards, look at the villages attached to the city and see what they are producing. Use that info to make a decision on what work shop to purchase. I promise this works. My shops make between 250 and 450 on average.

War is bad for workshops, not only sieges but looting the supply villages. Be prepared to liquidate your investments if the situation changes. I tried the build a silver workshop and supply ore yourself thing, but found it was hard work (better things to spend the time on) and the workshop didn't really perform well... The best I've had is cities with cheap iron and buy/make smithies. Weapons always sell well. Find places that have cheap supply and good demand for the chain you want, and they will churn away with little intervention (except checking for wars). There are a lot of cities with high grain supply, which says brewery. Which can be awesome, however you'll find several places where there are many cities with grain and breweries near each other, making it bad. So a brewery in the right place is really good, a brewery in the wrong place is mediocre despite having cheap supply. Not sure if this will stay the same, but if you buy a workshop, change it's production and then sell it again, it will stay as the new production type. You can use this to tune your own cities to be more profitable, enemy cities to be less profitable and/or food issues or generally tune the economy more to your liking. I.E create better supply/demands

I'm new to the game and I'm still learning how everything works and your guides have helped me a lot but my question is. if two kingdoms are at war, would it be wise to buy say a blacksmith deep in the winning kingdoms territory since they are in need of weapons? I'm currently working as a mercenary for the mongels and the city I met my wife in is deep in their territory so I figured might as well buy a blacksmith there?

I have found what the bound villages produce does not seem to matter Askar for example has two bound villages that produce grain. So logic would state a brewery would make good profits however this has not been the case, I setup a brewery there and after many weeks it was still making less than 100 per day. This has also been true using the same logic in other towns and yet i have set up workshops like a pottery shop in pravend that was making me anywhere between 300-500 per day.
