Being a teacher, social worker or high school principal equals success to many people. In many southern and midwest stayes they are able to purchase a home and provide for their family but yes they have a spending cap and budget.

There is a style of hair extensions and Verneisha is one of the few people who do it - and it is very expensive to put in. And she also has several other businesses including a hookah lounge. Verneisha has multiple streams of income.

I am the primary breadwinner in my relationship, but my husband knows how to take care of my needs without spending a dime, and he contributes intagibles worth way more than if he did actually work an hourly wage job. We don't buy useless label brands to keep up with the Jones'. We just buy quality products that have reasonable prices. We spend discretionary money on family priorities like trips, events, hobbies, and dining out for the family. Marriage is about balance in all areas...not just money. I think even if my man didn't take care of the kids and home I'd still keep him and hire a maid because he makes me so happy in so many other ways I don't want to live without. Sometimes true love really does conquer all, but ego gets in the way for many men and women. Drop that and find something real.

Also not sure how you are comparing this to the story of Ruth bur the movie "Acrimony" was a horrible premise and the man was trash. He cheated on her, left her then came back after her mom died and she got an inheritance. Then used up all her inheritance.
