God bless this woman! I strive to live like this constantly. I am a home maker and couponer so I understand what she works to do. I love that she did not feel the need to have a reality show.

I'll never regret living so frugally & sacrificing so much so I could be at home with my children when they were young. It takes some work and planning, but it is worth it.When I used to see my neighbors loading infants and small children still in PJ's at 7am in all kinds of weather & all kinds of driving conditions, my heart would break. Sometimes even sacrifice and planning is not enough to allow staying at home, I do understand that. But try if you can.

Yes, if your goal in life is giving birth and being a house keeper. But it's kind of short on a person's talents.

We need more people like her. While I know this info most people do not. They got rid of home economics in school which benefited both boys and girls. Not everyone has a family structure who can teach these forgotten skills.

She sounds like Amy Dacyczyn who wrote the Tightwad Gazette in the '80s, or Joanne York who wrote "How I Feed My Family of Four on Sixteen Dollars a Week" in the 70s.

I noticed that too. Not the best choice of words. This society makes people feel bad if they aren't striving to get attention via TV or public speaking. I'd have no problem with that but I think there needs to be a shift in thinking to make people who may not want to do these things just as equal.

Jema Be Yes, it is very unusual in the US not to use a dryer. When I studied in France a few years ago, I was very surprised to find that my host family didn’t own a dryer, and that even wealthier people didn’t often use one.

I think the thermostat in the summer was for the air conditioner. The electric companies here say turning the thermostat down in the winter saves because it has to get to a lower temperature before coming on, say everytime the house gets to 75 degrees, and keeping it higher in the summer for the AC means it has to get hotter. Doesn't make since to me but I've noticed a difference in our bill by doing this. It's uncomfortable though and that's why most people won't do it.

I am smart enough to still absorb the information without poo-pooing their beliefs. You're missing a lot of great stuff if you're ignoring educational outlets because religion creeps in minotly.

Its not the Frugal idea thats Bad , its the reason behind it ,which in many cases is having more than 1 kid .Should i say Bravo or Simply Moroonic???So instead of that 1 kid enjoying a whole peace of cake n complete education n travel ,u rather have freaking 2 to three kids fight over food feel deprived n hungry n have half education. Her intentions n ideas are cooming from a good place but come on.. more than 1 complete life 4 1 kid

FoodDreamsToAll Maybe, maybe not.... some people have children who are loved wanted and planned for, work hard to support them and due to circumstances beyond their control eg accident ill health, job loss, abandonment or widowhood are left in dire straits.... The choice is.. lifestyle change and cutting costs or crumbling and depending on welfare.... If this lady helps people to survive and manage their finances more effectively, what is the problem with that ... Yes there are those who just breed indiscriminately but they wouldn't even be watching this.. they would be too busy .
@jessicareid7613
@jessicareid7613 7 жыл бұрын
you're being extremely judgemental with this comment...for one..she might have planned the four kids (I come from a four child family, and we were ALL planned). Secondly...what makes you think that she can't afford a better lifestyle but chooses to simply live this way so that she can put money away for her family and teach herself and her kids valuable skills? It is good to watch these sorts of things with an open mind.....

You know that by only having one child (even only two, for that matter) doesn’t make up for the mortality rate, and that as such, countries are contraceptive themselves out of existence. Look at China.

Just the thought of the energy this woman has to have is tiresome. Four children, cooking, piano lessons, all the house work and the blog. She isn't frugal about spending her energy, that's for sure. And why have four children if you are going to deprive them of having a nice life? Family planing.
@granitemoss1451
@granitemoss1451 6 жыл бұрын
How are they deprived of having a nice life? Many frugal people live better lives than those who spend recklessly, because they value security over things. They may not have fancy stuff, but they can handle the curveballs that devastate others.
