Today's episode is about the Money Tree, or officially the Pachira Aquatica. It is an easy care indoor favorite of many!

I repotted mine yesterday, and I went with larger pot as well,but I added some perlite for better drainage.

thanks for the tips on watering. I think I overwatered my money tree! the leaves are yellow but there's new leaves coming out.

I planted two money trees last year. They seem to be slow growing. Too much water makes the leaves yellow. They are cold hardy so far this winter. The low temperature has been 44 f. I always regret planting tropical trees this time of year. You made a good post.

Thank you Michael, they should be fairly cold hardy however freezing will definitely kill them. Yours should bounce back nicely in the spring!

I've had my Money Tree for about 2 years. I felt I was neglecting it by only watering once every month or so. I began giving it much more attention (Water) Now I realize I've caused Rotting of 2 of the 4 trees. I've removed the Dead and repotted the remaining 2. Lesson Learned, I Hope. I enjoy your channel. Thank You!!!

I did come here to learn more about money tree care because i just got one as a gift. But, and only DC Comics fans will get this, but Plant Daddy TOTALLY made me think of Tommy Willowtree.

Can you do one for the Dracaena corn plant? Mine is dying. The leaves are all turning spotty brown and yellow. They say don’t over water but I haven’t watered in two weeks. I’ve lost a lot of leaves.

Hmm some of the older lower leaves should start to die back with age but perhaps this sounds different. How old is the plant? I do have a couple of corn plants so that is a great idea for a video! Perhaps if you have not been watering, you need to be? Check how damp the soil is about 2” down. If dry, I would water some.

Hi!.....does that new pot havé a hole in the bottom for drainage?.....I am always concerned about pots with no holes.....hard to tell if overwatering ....what is your opinion?

Hi, this pot does not have a hole. It keeps water off my floor this way. Just need to be more mindful about watering. Think twice

I just put mine in leca after two previous pottings had its soil go hydrophobic. Guess we’ll see how it goes! 🤪

What soil do u recommend?? I think mine is dying from having the wrong soil on it and root rotting

I just use regular potting soil. Nothing special but I am very careful to check and wait before watering. If you’ve been having trouble, try using cactus soil, or use a pot that has good drainage with a tray

No, I have not tried air layering the pachira. I do not know how well it would work since it does not have root nodes? If you try let me know’

HELP!? Mine has one part of the trunk that is squishy?? What can I do to save it? Everything else is solid and fine

Hi! Without photos I am not sure what you mean exactly. If you can provide moving air and less water that would slow any fungal / mold, but I don’t know if that is what you are dealing with. Sorry! Any other info you could provide?

Can I replant my money tree from moss to soil? It’s been in the moss for about a year. It was a gift so it’s in a small white plate like thing haha please help I love my money tree

Yes it will be fine to repot in soil. Select a pot that is not too much larger than the roots, 1” or so. Shake most of the moss from the roots and then plant as you would anything. If the moss is usually moist, I would try to replicate similar conditions in your soil at first but money trees are very hardy and should be fine!

Odd, they usually start to turn brown and into a bark like situation. Is that what you are seeing or has it happened all of a sudden?

Just leave it in a bright, warmer area and water lightly only when the soil is nearly dry. Have patience and it may return in a couple of weeks. Good luck 🤞🏻
