Mónica is a singer/composer who has been singer since mid 1990´s. This song has double meaning. (You should read her lyrics to get full meaning and symbolism). The song "Europa" is a story about a grand diva singer performer during XX century. Although, she was adored by audience, everything went to hell when the WW II started. After the war, the society was devasted, building were destroyed and people suffering poverty and hunger. As the result, the diva becomes crazy (scream note at the end of the song), but arose from the ashes. Mónica uses this story as a metaphor of her own personal life. Mónica had been fighting with her record company for many years for artistic control. In 2001, while her brother had a terminal illness, she wanted take care of him during her brother last few months of life. The record company threatned Monica that they would sue her if she did not work on her new record "Bad Girls". Finally, Mónica had it with the record company and in 2002, she left the music scence for six years until was able to obtain complete control of her music. The result was her album "Tarántula" with the first single "Europa" For Mónica, it was like starting all over again, just like the diva who started all over again and arose from the ashes after WWII. Mónica is not very popular, but is a high caliber artist. To understand her music, you need to read her lyrics, read about her life and take into consideration when her songs were released. Pufff es que Monica es una de las mejores cantantes que existen, siempre adelantada a su tiempo... es muy complicado conocerla bien porque canta, pop, rock, lírico... La llaman la pantera de Figueras... y realmente es un animal del escenario, por regla general en directo suele ser mejor, si puedes, tienes que ver el directo de este tema "europa concierto stage", tiene mas energía en directo... y hay una parte diferente que es para quitarse el sombrero.... Monica tiene una canción aun mas "rara" y mas loca, que se llama "doble corazón"... pero también tiene mas estilos, una interpretación increíble es la de "sobreviviré Pavarotti and friends", otro estilo seria "ahora ahora directo lugar", otra diferente seria "make your rock", y cuando piensas que lo has visto todo, te va cambiando de estilos, de tonos, etc... es una locura de cantante... nunca la vas a conocer del todo... no se esta quieta con esa voz infinita, capaz de cantarte heavy metal como cantarte lírico... es tremenda.... Desde entonces, Mónica es su propia discográfica, canta lo que quiere y le gusta. Los últimos trabajos son acompañados de una orquesta sinfónica y durante 7 años ha estado trabajando en su ópera rock LUBNA, una maravilla que te aconsejo escuchar un día con calma. Mónica, es capaz de cantar tantos y tantos géneros, que nos perderíamos nombrándolos todos. Además su voz está llena de muchos matices y colores.
