This is the saddest part of friends. They were the best relationship but it just didnt work out practically in the real world. Sometimes the strongest love doesnt make the best marriage

Okay, Richard knows Monica since she's a little girl didn't sit right with me but since they are adults I think that can okay. But the thing that bugs me a lot, is the time where Monica tried to date Richard's son, omg! Good thing they noticed how weird and strange it was and mentioned it to Monica. But yeah

Mondler were really cute, but Richica (lol have no idea what their name is!) were hot! It's too bad TS wasn't younger because they probably would've kept him around. I'll get hate for this, but I've always felt that she settled for Chandler. The scene where Mondler are having dinner in a restaurant & Richard walks in completely stealing Monica's attention is evident of that. It's unfortunate that Richard didn't want children, but if he did, no doubt Monica would have married him in a heart beat.

The reason why the character of Richard was written out was because Tom Selleck got a leading role in a new series on another network. That series got almost immediately cancelled, but then it was too late and he had already left Friends.

I agree that I loved them together. No matter what, it did seem like a relationship full of respect and love. But I also do like her relationship with Chandler. And I think that’s OK, you can have more than one great relationship because sometimes, things don’t have great timing or work out even if it is great.

Brilliant video!! I loved them together! Monica and Chandler were and still are, dramatically overrated - there, I said what I said. For me, they had ZERO chemistry. Monica had way hotter, better chemistry with Richard - I don't care about what people say about them, that they were weird, etc (I don't think so) but I don't talk about that part now, I just talk about pure chemistry, and in terms of chemistry, Monica and Richard were WAY better than Mondler EVER was. Also, Monica/Courtney had better chemistry with Joey too, so with Matt Le Blanc. Joey and Monica were actually planned as a central couple on the show, at the very beginning before the writers changed their plans. Too bad we never saw it because we got a hint of the potential in the flashback episode when Monica met Joey for the first time and they flirted, remember this scene? it was such a hot scene, and it perfectly showed Joey&Monica intense, great chemistry, the kind of chemistry she never had with Chandler. The bottom line: Courtney looked way better with Joey and Richard than she ever looked with Chandler/Perry. People are loving Chandler and Monica only because the writers wrote them as perfect, in a way that is actually unrealistic. Had any other couple on this show, been given a chance to have so many stable, cute moments, they would beat Monica and Chandler 100000 times over as the best couple because Ross and Rachel, as well as Monica and Richard, or Phoebe and Joey for that matter - all of them, had more chemistry between each other than Monica and Chandler ever had. But these couples weren't allowed the constant happy lives together like Mondler. That's the only difference. And so many fans don't see it.

Stop infantilizing adults and making a scandal out of something that is not a scandal, but is the personal feelings and preferences of adults. There's nothing creepy or weird about a relationship like Monica and Richards. Richard is not in a relationship with 3-year-old Monica but with the adult Monica, and 30-year-old Monica is a completely different person than 3-year-old Monica. And I'm a young woman, btw, who totally understands Richard's hotness, and I would be attracted to him too. 3 yr old Monica was a kid, and back then Richard didn't think about her that way at all, and NOW, she is NOT a child, she changed 100% from who she was as a child, and is a completely different person mentally & physically, like we all are. What is more, Richard had no contact with Monica (looking at their reunion years later) throughout her adolescence and even early adult life, they only reconnected when Monica was already in her twenties near her thirties. So there is absolutely nothing creepy here, he didn't watch her 'grow up', he wasn't around all the time and they only reunited when she was near her thirties. Richard remembers a child, that's all, and he didn't have nor he has now, any creepy feelings toward this child. He now has feelings for an adult woman who is NOT that child at all. And Monica loves Richard too, so this is two adults deciding they want to be together, nothing more, period. People like all of you - haters in the comments, who try to force some creepiness into this discussion are really pathetic. The age of consent starts from 16 years old, in some regions, and for a reason! Monica is freaking 27 here! Adult woman. Two consenting adults in a loving relationship that they CHOSE to be in!!

I don’t think the age difference is strange I think that him knowing her when she was a little girl was a little creepy. Like when Rachel talked about how she crashed her bike in front of his house when she was 9 and he fixed it for her and kissed her forehead. How do you stop picturing people you watched grow up as little kids while you were an adult? Especially since he’s good friends with Monica’s dad and has a daughter her age. That will never not be weird.

They were good together no doubt. They were a beautiful couple however the age difference was too vast. A life partner is supposed to live with you for the whole life but with this vast difference in age you already know, that no it could never be possible for you to be together for long.

Well with modern medical technology etc it's reasonable to think that he'll live to be around 85-90 at least and Richard is a character who seems to be into fitness etc so it's possible.. then when he dies at 90, she'll be 70, so why is that so weird ?

I don't fancy people younger than me but I think it's because they're not in the same house as you so that familiarity isn't there. Also you're dealing with the person right in front of your face. I don't know how you can ignore what us in front of your face and think about the past.

@@ToCam-fl8ry It just feels icky to me, man. I don't feel comfortable watching it. That's just how I feel. I also didn't remember that they went no contact, so it's not nearly as creepy as I remember it being. I'm not trying to force creepiness, it just freaks me out - I was a minor not long ago, so it felt a lot worse then. I think it's age gaps that freak me out more, now that I think about it. Again, that's just my opinion and I didn't mean to make you upset or to force anything weird. I thought it was weird when I was a kid watching Friends, and I guess it's just stuck with me. I'm sorry. I honestly don't think 16 is old enough to consent, but that's not the issue here. What's the reason to have relations with a 16 year old, btw? I don't see a reason.
