Monica was crushing it here, and her on court demeanor resembled her former self. Far to often in her second career, she looked like she was half invested and had many more mental lapses. She was showing us her quick hands in this match as well. Still so amazing to watch Monica strike the ball and construct a point. Definitely the GOAT!

Seles looked quite fit here. I think without the injuries she could have had another top10 season.

With this and improved fitness seles could have lasted 2-3 years more...sad to see her getting ankle injury when she was regaining her fitness back ..

Here Monica was really in shape, she moved well, fast, very good athletic training work started in 2002, it's a shame about the hip injury and the more serious one in Paris, Monica could have given us another 2/3 years of tennis!

She would have made a deep run in the tournament had it not been for the injury in the second round :(

Wish Monica would have put more care and thought into her appearance. She looks good here but what she wore in the next round and in Japan was so unfitted to her body and figure. Hated that she went with Yonex over Nike in 2000. Yonex's clothing was and continues to be a nightmare. I can't believe they can't hire a good designer... 🤮
