​@@pennydupree2732 I don't think there has been an update from the family as yet but I can't be certain. There is another video that was recently posted by someone else who is either offering an explanation in relation to the incident or maybe it's just speculation?? I haven't watched it yet. The video I saw ("Dad and Grandma Cried Goodbye to Monkey Kaka and Monkey Mit") was really upsetting especially when the monkeys were locked in a cage! Kaka has been with this family for most of her life and she loves them. I have no idea how she is going to cope or adjust. They really should put the best interests of the monkeys first! Just some fyi: both long tail and pig tail macaques are on endangered species list. Due to deforestation and the use of these beautiful animals as lab specimens their numbers are very low. It is not legal to "own" monkeys in Viet Nam, Cambodia and some other countries. Did you know training these wild animals to walk bi-pedal (2 legs) is actually bad for them? It causes skeletal deformities, excess wear on back joints. They were made to walk on all 4s. Processed, "human food" is very bad these animals. It can cause diabetes, obesity and poor eyesight. I will say this lady appears to have fed this monkey pretty well with more natural foods. These folks don't "register" these animals because they aren't supposed to have them. The authorities are no longer turning a blind eye to "pet" channels. I am not saying anything negative about the care of ANY monkey on the "pet" channels. These beautiful wild animals deserve to grow up with their families, learn how to be part of the troop and live the life the Creator intends for them.

If Lyly is in Vietnam it’s illegal apparently, the authorities the forest protection department have to enforce the law, permits are rarely granted, and cannot be granted for pet ownership

You can google it and see it is illegal to keep monkeys as pets in Vietnam unless the permits and everything needed are in order. Kakas family must have been reported and that's why they were confiscated. It's terribly sad especially for the baby. They were together from birth.

The animals will be going to either a sanctuary or a zoo, as the officials are well aware they could not be successfully re-intergerated into the wild. Their natural instincts are ruined by living with humans, they lose the ability to just be a monkey---that is why it is better to leave them in the wild in the first place.

I am totally heartbroken and sick k thinking about what is happening to them😢
