Jordan Peele's production company, Monkey Paw, rescued this movie from netflix. from what i read netflix has had this film in their possession for more than two years. it wasn't released because they were afraid of offending India's political sensibilities. don't know if that is true but if it is, India may not allow this movie to be released there unless it is severely censored.

Well the sentiments are always high whenever any movie directly references our gods ! But I didn’t find anything in the trailer that might lead to any offence. But then you never know. Atleast till now the reception to this trailer is very positive

Watched twice and quite disappointed... Watch 12th Fail or Super 30 to see how a good film is made... A good balance of real life and daily experiences in smaller Indian towns.. Unlike Monkey Man which has the classic overseas Indian stereotypes where only a few super rich and many very impoverished people exist (and the 700million middle class with their real, daily struggles but small happinesses - are invisible) ... The plot of a religious guru controlling the ruling political party and being nationalist is intended to speculate and please extreme left wing 😂 Very poor, cringe music too. And the repeated western narrative of cramped, unclean India is very 1990s 😂 Great action though.
