A short video about my selection of Monkey Wrenches for NavyThomas8. A couple of them have been modified to turn them into Blacksmith Twisting Wrenches.

Nice job!! I love those old wrenches. I started on the cattle car, and once it is completed I should be able to get started on the Hay Baler . The cattle will need hay while they travel. Thank You Wayne.

I have a few of those type in my tool collection. I am partial to the Coes wrenches. "Coes Wrench Company manufactured the screw type wrench invented by Loring Coes; this wrench is commonly known as a monkey wrench. Loring Coes was granted a patent on April 16, 1841. - Wikipedia

I had a very nice like new Whitman and Barnes "Railroad Special" that I had purchased with the one that was on the far left. However a railroad nerd friend of mine wanted it REAL bad.

Also, the "monkey-wrench", is not so named because it is a handy thing to monkey with, or for any kindred reason. "Monkey" is not its name at all, Charles Moncky, the inventor of it, sold his patent for $5000.

The big one that I did second, I ground a real deep bevel on the piece I was adding so that I could file the junction down in an attempt to make it look factory.
