Monologue | Joey in Precious Little Talent by Ella Hickson

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a good week and enjoying the summer.
This week I'm sharing an old monologue that I filmed in the winter time.
I am performing as Joey in Ella Hickson’s Precious Little Talent. This play tells the story of Joey, a privileged 23 year old and recent law school graduate, who visits her Father, George, in New York unannounced after losing her job. Joey unexpectedly meets 19 year old Sam, who she later realises is her Father’s carer, as she slowly discovers George is suffering from dementia. In this speech she is talking to the audience about Sam and their relationship.

Wow that was great! 🎉❤ Also, may I ask you about international actors in London? Are there opportunities for an international actor to get acting jobs in London? How is it at your school? Are there many international actors who plan to start working in London?

Thank you so much! ❤️ I’ve definitely met a lot of international actors! But getting opportunities is as hard for everyone I think - but that shouldn’t stop you:)

But I was asking because I’ve heard some people saying that actors should always start in their countries and after they are known in their countries then they should move to others countries and pursue opportunities elsewhere. Can you tell me if international actors talk about this in your school? Is this actually true or just an opinion?

I’ve heard of some international actors doing it this way, and I think if it’s possible then it definitely will help, but also everyone’s journey is so different, you have to kind of see what makes sense for yourself!
