Materials used:
300gsm smooth printmaking paper (suggestions for similar paper would be BFK Rives or Somerset satin, or you could use a hot or cold press watercolour paper)
Newsprint or scrap paper
Plastic or glass slab for rolling out ink and mixing oil paint
Printmaking roller/brayer
Bone folder or spoon for rubbing ink
Pencils
Caligo Safewash etching ink in Carbon Black
Sennelier oil paint in Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Lemon Yellow and Titanium White
Palette knife
Oil paint brushes
Watercolour brush
Watercolour paint

Scribbling on the back of the oil transfer paper with a very soft pencil might have produced interesting results. It works quite well with photocopy transfer soaked in wintergreen oil.

I would've sprayed a fine mist of water and then pressed it to transfer the colours.

A trick: you can watch movies on flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.

That’s a good example of Monotype Maybe next time use liquin on the bac,k of transfer would work?

Try using a low heat iron to transfer the colors.

Hi Carol, i bought all my brayers from Neil Wallace Printmaking Supplies in Melbourne, Australia. I know they don’t sell the particular tiny one I’m using here anymore, but they do sell some other very small ones.

Can you use oil paint on paper?

Hi Etienne, the binders in oil paint aren't as strong as in oil based printing ink, but despite that oil paint is often used for mono printing because it can be easier to access. As long as you don't use too much, and print in a thin layer, it should be fine. If you wanted to do a full, normal oil painting on paper, you should either buy paper specifically designed for this, or prime your paper with gesso the same way you would for a canvas or wooden panel.
