Heather and I were there in March. We stayed at the Station Rooms, so fell out of bed onto the start line! Two weeks ago we were at Uckfield and met Sarah who was wearing a Sandringham parkrun shirt... we were going to Sandringham the following week. Met Sarah and Paul (ED) at Sandringham for the parkrun and again next day at the Sandringham Half-Marathon. Watched your video last night. Quelle suprise! Sarah appears !! We love the videos, Nicola, looking forward to seeing the next ones.

Haha, love the birthday greeting for Alan, he looks like he LOVED it hahahaha. I was telling my friend at work how much I love those dinosaur costumes in your videos as they look hilarious when in action 🤣🤣🤣🤣. It was so awesome when you got to say "well done to Alan and the dinosaur during the race. I am injured since the 29th of May so my first races will be a 10k at 8pm on July 9 and a 10k at 8am on the following day, after a pancake breakfast. Hope I don't vomit hahahahahha! Your videos and IG are helping to tide me over for running until then. Thanks for that!

Now that’s a place in the North Midlands that I have actually been too. I walked the other way through the tunnels back in 2010. The longest tunnel was shut then but it is open now. I intend to go back & do the parkrun there someday. PS I loved the bit about Al not having to do parkrun on his birthday next year. My birthday is 27th August & it fell on parkrun day last year but I have an 11 year wait until it falls on parkrun day again ! Lucky Al he only has to wait 5 years !

Oh my goodness 11 years!!! That's rubbish! Lol to lucky Al... I'm not sure he'd agree 🤣 although in 5 years he'll get to celebrate his new age category again so it's perfect 😂😂😂 I'd love to go back sometime and check out the full trail, especially the tunnels 😃

Yes, I have to wait 11 years unfortunately 😢. I discovered that there is a 28 year cycle & your birthday will fall on a Saturday 4 times during that cycle. Mine fell on a Saturday in 2016 when I did my 50th parkrun, 2022 & the next ones will be 2033, 2039 & 2044 so the gaps are 6 years, 11 years, 6 years & 5 years in that order. This is why you don’t want to miss a parkrun Saturday in the 3rd year after Leap Years Day i.e. 1st March 2022 to 28th Feb 2023 because that day will not be a Saturday for another 11 years. However, things will be different between 2096 & 2103 if we are around that long as 2100 won’t be a Leap Year !

I did the original route back in 2019 and did this in 2022. The original had a cheeky incline on the way out but was more scenic. I always have fond memories of Bakewell parkrun as it were my 1st time under 30 mins. Great vid as always.

Great vid as always Nicola and happy birthday to Al. As a fan of Keswick-esque out and back courses on disused rail lines, I recommend Wynyard Woodland parkrun near Stockton on Tees. Quite new and an excellent course.

Happy birthday Al. I have nice memories of running the Monsal trail with my daughter cycling along side (not parkrun). The tunnels are pretty cool. As for bakewell, we preferred the tart over the pudding. And if you like running in tunnels, then you'll have to come back to Bergen on a rainy day and try out our 3km tunnel complete with running track.

Thank you again for the video. Q....as your a "pacer",how do you manage to do that,I tried a 12 mile run and set a goal pace time,but my Garmin was all over the place,so I failed?

You can't go too much on your Garmin... Every time you turn a corner your current pace goes nuts for a while. I usually do a practice run at race pacing pace to lock into what it feels like. Then you check your time at the mile or km markers. I only use my Garmin current pace on long straight sections. It's definitely something that you need to practice ☺️

I hadn't noticed this, I ran Bakewell parkrun in 2019 and it's now showing on my parkrun results as Monsal Trail parkrun... Which I suppose is technically a course I haven't run? But then I doubt there's much difference between them.

Yes it's funny. Some results stop and come back as something else if it's in a different place but as the start/finish is the same, and the team are the same then they've left this as a pause and a new name 🙃

My kids have watched your park run videos, we went to Bradford/lister park which we now do every 2 weeks and the only reason they go is because they think they might see poppy one day 😂 please let your audience know if you so, my girls would love to say hi to her they think she’s famous 🥰

Awwww this is so sweet! I'm sure we'll go back there again. I co-host a parkrun podcast (With Me Now) and we usually say where we are going the following week. Otherwise we can just hope you are there when we next visit 🤗

We did! I love actual almonds but dislike marzipan or anything with almond essence so I was super sceptical but the Bakewell pudding was actually nice! 😋

@@NicolaRuns was a great weekend, weeks before Covid all kicked off, was using it as training for Manchester Marathon. Beer, Chinese, getting up at 3am to watch the Tyson Fury fight, all good prep for a half marathon: )
