Nice rig

Why is this rig designated a "tanker"? Simply because the one it's replacing was? He never actually mentioned how much water it can carry. I can't see this rig taking part in a tanker shuttle. He mentioned inline operations, more classic engine-style work. Unusual layout, but every dept. has their own needs, so it's great that Pierce can make it happen. Nice rig, it should serve them well (whatever they call it ;) ).

In Rockland County, a pumper truck that carries 1000 gallons of water or more is considered a "tanker." This truck has a 1000 gallon tank. Most of the pumpers in Rockland carry 1000 gallons. The only one that holds more than 1000 gallons is in Tallman. That truck has 1200 gallons.

BonesCentralRR Thank you for the clarification. It still seems a little small, with tankers elsewhere typically being 2.5-3K gals. I'm a city boy, so they don't need/use tankers here at home. :)
